Dumb thing for Trump to say. But this is what we have warts and all. The fact he's not a politician is both blessing and curse.

At least he is real, unlike the vapid frauds Democrats put on their ticket.

We will see if Full Bore Trump can defeat Marxists masquerading as moderates.

His odds will get better as Harris is forced out of her protective bubble.

But we will still have to deal with the idiotic remarks to go along with the sound policy measures and the solid record he achieved in his first term. Nature of this bull in a china shop.

1) You're derailing the thread by coming after me and deflecting from the point of this thread.

2) I do not think it was staged, and never said it was staged. But I do think it was weird. Never said it was staged though. Maybe you think it's staged?

Just a really stupid thing to say, regardless of what point Trump was attempting to make.

Does your hyperbole make you feel any better about falsely portraying what Trump said?

He was not insulting Medal of Honor recipients, he's saying that medal comes with much greater cost.

But the problem is, agenda-driven people like yourself can't have an honest conversation about it and acknowledge Trump over-describes things (true) while also acknowledging he wasn't insulting them (true)...instead your first reaction is to de-humanize him and anyone that doesn't 100% agree with your take. What a convenient position.

Then you make these ridiculous emotional narratives and bring the A&M Medal of Honor recipients into your partisan conversation...which is actually just as insulting to their memory as what you're accusing Trump of.
trump said: The Medal of Freedom is the civilian version of the Medal of Honor.

trump said: Actually it's much better because Medal of Honor recipients are either in very bad shape because they've been hit so many times by bullets or they're dead.

He equated the MoF to the MoH, literally said the word "equivalent", and then said, no, actually, the MoF is much better because everyone who gets the MoH is shot to pieces or dead, whereas the MoF recipient he was specifically talking about, got to have her medal as a "healthy, beautiful woman."

Just equating these two medals is insulting to MoH recipients, never mind saying that the civilian one is "much better". And why is the civilian one better, in trump's opinion? Because the civilian one was given to a "healthy, beautiful woman" in contrast to the military recipients who are "either in very bad shape because they've been hit so many times by bullets or they're dead."

You can make trump's excuses on this forum all day long if you wish. It won't change what he said, on camera, and is currently being shared *everywhere* online.

I remember when this board would count the number of times Obama used the word "I" in a tweet recognizing Memorial Day as evidence that he hated our military.

Now we have Magats bending over backward to justify why Trump didn't actually mean exactly what he said about MOH recipients.

Crazy times.
What's more amusing are the people who bought into the 'Russia Russia' nonsense, 'Very fine people' nonsense, 'Grabbing the steering wheel' nonsense, 'Insulting dead soldiers at funeral' nonsense...are bending over backwards to convince everyone that Trump was insulting MOH recipients...while they conveniently ignore the numerous actual insults that Harris, Biden, and Waltz have said for the past 4 years.

Biden, Harris say this exact thing, they breeze right over it. Trump says it, and Sloppadopolis will be on the Sunday show going full tilt about how Trump hates veterans
If Biden or Harris said this, the uproar through much of the country would be enormous. They would get no pass on saying this at all.

Uhhh...fish Jones. You and I had a very measured civil discussion on the Military Forum about Walz. We both were on the FDT. You mentioned that you wanted to fly in the USMC. I forgot to mention my brother, a year behind me also FDT, flew in the USMC 22 years. We're both Democrats. You're free to call us anything you want except "unpatriotic." "Old Bone Spurs" Chump is every bit as unpatriotic as any Democrat.
After seeing Trump over the last decade or more, I have zero doubt he made up bone spurs as an excuse not to go to Vietnam. However, I don't think he did it out of cowardice, I think it was because he was a lace curtain egoist who didn't think it'd be fun. I think he's actually quite naturally courageous; and he showed it during the assassination attempt.

Either way, he loves the country; and the dems hate it. That much is assured.
Chump only loves himself. This country is, at best, nothing more than a means to an end for Chump.

Yeah, I don't believe that. He's an old man, he's an obscenely wealthy old man, and could be doing a billion other things much more fun and less strenuous than running for President. I think he believes he's the only one that can save the country. Call it hubris and egotistical if you want, but it's at least selfless if delusional.

This relates back to a video the other day of him signing a portrait of a Medal of Honor recipient. He asked the artist if the honoree was dead. She said he was fine and I believe, still on active duty. Trump went on to say most Medal of Honor recipients are dead or in bad shape from wounds received in action.

Correct or not, he has that on his mind. When commenting on the significance of the two honors, he oddly added it is better to be alive and healthy than dead.

I like Trump so I look for a reasonable and benign explanation. If you don't like Trump, you look for a way to discredit him.

I think that Chump is nothing more than a social climber. He always wanted to be in the highest of New York society circles, but they would never accept him. So he ran for President to try to force his way into the highest circles.

In other words, being President is merely the means to an end.

Well feel free to ask a veteran how they perceive it, and then you'll get a more accurate perspective. Anything else is just guessing, no matter how 'right' you think you are for putting your assumptions into what was said.

Hold both of them to standards.
But that's not what's happening, and you know that.
I'm all in favor of holding both to high standards.

The general view here seems to be to hold Chump to no standards and hold Haris to high standings.

The issue isn't what he said, so much as how the media won't give him an inch of wiggle on what he said.

That's because the Dems are unpatriotic cornholes
"Old Bone Spurs" Chump is every bit as unpatriotic as any Democrat.

I think that Chump is nothing more than a social climber. He always wanted to be in the highest of New York society circles, but they would never accept him. So he ran for President to try to force his way into the highest circles.

In other words, being President is merely the means to an end.

The joke is on Chump. He is further from being accepted into those circles than he ever was before.
Granted Trump tripped over his tongue again. Adamantly wanted DeSantis for exactly his reason. No question where that guy stands in regards to the military or other issues. That said this post is BS and you know it.

We get it you dont like Trump. I dont either. BUT the dude isn't a puppet or a cowardly socialist and at least has the courage to take on a hostile press. And I trust him more than the conniving left

Now think about Harris, a total puppet, using press releases and ads to do her communicating. No press conferences no personal presentations and people are okay with this ?

Now some pilot up thread saw the light and no longer lets Rush think for him. Making the insinuation that anyone to the right of Bill Clinton does. I believe that story about as much as I would if Harris were to talk to the American people.

I suggest you and others do some thinking because yeah, you dont like Trump. He's an awful candidate. I hate having to defend his jackassery and lack of discipline. Still despite that I cant see how any self respecting or thinking person could be cool with whats going on with the democrats. Those dwarf the issues with Trump.

This whole election process is a farce and our founders all the way up to Reagan would be appalled

No your posting suggest you hold only one side to a standard.

That's nonsense. Where have I ever said anything in support of Harris?

Neither of the two are fit to be President.

Well feel free to ask a veteran how they perceive it, and then you'll get a more accurate perspective. Anything else is just guessing, no matter how 'right' you think you are for putting your assumptions into what was said.

I'll bite and share my thoughts as a veteran - I don't think Trump really cares about the military outside of lip service to try to get votes. He's made enough unforced errors like this since he's got into politics to make me think behind closed doors he does believe we're the "losers and suckers" he's allegedly been heard saying.

From fighting his own person Vietnam in the 70s and 80s, being a draft dodger, comments like this, and his treatment of Gen Mattis I do not think much of him. This is just typical Trump.

eric thinks voting for born-to-lose looneybirds like Gary Johnson gives him some sort of high ground
