I'd encourage you to listen to the audio. Classic taken out of context and intentional obfuscation in critically interpreting what he said and the intent.

What he said is true from the viewpoint of which he said it. The medal of freedom is earned in objectively better circumstances than the Medal of Honor. Medal of Freedom is earned for peacetime , civilian merit. Medal of Honor is earned for wartime , military merit nearly always posthumously through the sacrifice of one's life.

He isn't denigrating the Medal of Honor or it's recipients.

This isn't hard.
