good answers from all
but if WE SEE THIS- why doesn't she and her team see this?
my point being obviously we all despise her- but wouldn't her team want to get rid of this so "normal" people would want to vote for her?
how hard is it to just practice "don't laugh!" when I speak?
My guess would be a lot harder than you'd think. There's a reason people (detectives, FBI agents, psychologists) can "read" people. It's why it's so easy to tell when someone is lying for example, if you know what to look for. These things are nearly involuntary.
I think the head movement that accompanies the laughter also masks the loss of eye contact with the target, be it an interviewer, the camera, or the audience. Failure to maintain eye contact when lying or even stretching the truth is one of the biggest subconscious tells. Only the absolute best liars can look someone in the eye while they lie to them.
I remember when i was a kid, I picked up the phrase, "You know what I mean?" I think i got it from the Earnest movies. Anyway it worked it's way into nearly everything I said and I started closing nearly every statement with it. Obviously it was growing extremely annoying to those around me and my parents. I recall for a good while my mother really getting onto me about it. Thing was, I didn't even realize I was doing it. It took a very conscious effort on my part to cut that phrase out of ordinary conversation.
