what a brilliant move. and i agree social security shouldn't be taxed. we are already taxed out the ass and it's not like they do anything good with the money. this puts extra funds back into consumers pockets which can help drive the economy and its a great way to show ole timers exactly how you plan to improve their financial position very easily.

great trump
Actually, if doesn't benefit the average person and the benefit would be targeted at the wealthiest group in the country - those already in retirement and those nearing retirement. It would be a terrible policy and would increase the deficit of the so called "social security trust fund.' It's already the law that retirees will have their benefits cut by 21% when the trust fund is exhausted, which is projected to be in 2033. Removing the tax would speed that up, so whatever gains the retirees get from reduced taxes will almost be immediately wiped out. The only policy that would actually return tax to everybody is a reduction in spending and a reduction in rates for everybody, not the portion who receives social security. That being said, I have no problem with Trump shouting out ideas that would gather him votes. I wish he would do more of it.

We have to face it - because our government continues to print money and refuses to reduce spending, we are all going to pay - in reduced benefits, increased taxes, or both. And the people who will pay the most are our children and grandchildren.
