It is not making money but it probably stopped costing him money. It was never for profit, even though in the future it will be profitable because he will throw it in as an extra when signing up for his internet, or buying his cell phone.

Cell phone is something he has been teasing for awhile, which I would scrap my ATT account in a minute to join his service and buy his phone. I am guessing his satellites can do cell signal too? IDK how that works

i do. similarweb does not track in-app user behavior (page visits, bounce rate, etc.) like they do for web traffic, they even say so in their FAQ. it's not unusual to separate app and web analytics for social media, because these metrics can vary significantly between mobile apps and desktop websites due to differences in user behavior and interface design.

the ranking list referenced in the OP only includes web traffic from browsers, not app usage which is how most users engage with social media platforms. what Elon is doing is taking the true statement "x.com gets more web traffic than other social media sites" and incorrectly extrapolating it to say "x is the most visited social media platform."

To me, everything that isn't Twitter or Facebook isn't social media, it's more of place to watch things, not to interact with others.
