Druze population is roughly 600,000 in Syria (mostly in south Syria east of Irbil), 180,000 in Israel and 250,000 in Lebanon --- mostly concentrated in and near the Golan Heights.

I made a mistake earlier when I wrote the Druze were Muslim. They are Arab but speak a form of Hebrew along with Arabic and follow the Druze faith, which is Abrahamic but does not fit into any of the three majors.

Some Twitter reports of aircraft circling over northeastern Lebanon. They may be big target hunting.

We won't do a damn thing to retaliate. We won't even call them out. Harris is ok with this.

No one wants a hot war between Israel and Hezbollah. Not Israel, not Hezbollah, not Iran. Hezbollah is 10 to 20 times more powerful than Hamas if not much more.

Israel would eventually win any conflict but at tremendous cost to their population and economy. Israel does not want to see 10s of thousands of casualties plus probable attacks on nuke energy plants, which is what would likely happen.

Even in that eventuality, Iran loses because they lose their major proxy force in the region that they've invested 3.5 decades building and they probably lose all of their oil export capability after Israel bombs the crap out if them.

The Dimicrats will come out in support of the attack defending baby killers once again.

That the United States is not the world's police force and we can sit at home in our energy independence and not give flying F's about the ME. I look forward to that day although it's a long time away.

Historically the Middle East has needed dictators and brutal crackdowns of these Jihadi groups and frankly the US is too nice about warfare to have any sort of major effect on them. Let the regional powers like Turkey handle it.

Us sitting around on these small bases to protect a few oil fields and to launch a few missions against bad guys isn't really accomplishing all that much.
