The chances of any being prosecuted for more than a misdemeanor is pretty much 100%.

I knew nothing was going to happen but it truly is disgusting. These are the same people that have sent a woman to prison for a year for praying on January 6 but they just take a blind eye with this.

Burning an American flag, even if stolen and not the perp's own flag, is not illegal. Hasn't been since a 1989 SCOTUS decision (5-4) Texas v. Johnson. After that case, Congress passed a federal statute outlawing defacing an American flag. It too was struck down on 1st Amendment grounds.

Defacing monuments or public buildings with graffiti is usually a misdemeanor.

At least eight people associated with the anti-Israel protest in the nation's capital Wednesday now face federal criminal charges after clashes with police.

However, Fox News has learned that local prosecutors in D.C. have dropped less serious charges against several other individuals arrested at the protest. Authorities emphasized this is an ongoing investigation, and more charges may be filed.

The U.S. Attorney's Office in Washington, D.C., has charged Frederick Coates, Crow Momamome and Antonio Somerville with attempting to carry a dangerous weapon. Zachary Kam was charged with two counts of assault on a police officer. Nathaniel Lawrence, Sonia Krishan and Roger Miller face charges of attempted theft. And Essa Ejelat has been charged with threats related to the protest.

Additionally, there are five pending citation cases for "crowding, obstructing or incommoding" for which prosecutors have not yet decided on charges.

I read this morning that Park Police only had 29 officers to handle that crowd.

It is worth pointing out, DC Metro Police and Capitol Police were on the other side of Columbus Circle and they did support Park Police, but only after Park Police officers had moved away from the crowd, as you can see here:https://t.co/6ZWNFO32zZ
