Ultimately the election for the president will be decided based on a democratically held election (via the electoral college system) on November 5th.

That is how the constitution mandated it would work in the USA. Nothing about the rules of selecting the nominee.
See if you can find any democrat party members who think this is how their party selects a nominee and understands that their primary votes are not a real party of the process.

And it is only managed theatre.

Okay so what do you propose they do? You can't force someone to run if he has chosen not to. Not have a candidate?

Absolutely. They knew Joe wasn't fit for office and ran him anyway. You knew he wasn't fit for office and you voted for him anyway. He wasn't fit for office 4 years ago and we all knew that, too. The Democrat ticket should be empty at this point.

Whoever replaces Joe was not elected. Just like whoever has been running the country was not elected in 2020.

The nomination process (primaries) are internal democrat policies not elections in the sense of elections for a public position. They (the party) can run things however they want to and people can either get on board or not vote dem. It's basically a club.

They have no obligation to do anything, other than their own internal rules, which they can change at their whim.

Sometimes I see exotic, high-minded points brought out on this board, and I get a bit uncomfortable, thinking to myself "wow what if they're right, after all?"

But not this thread. Instead this is what my reaction looks like: XD

I mean, did people really think the DNC was a democratic operation? Do people really think the GOP (at least in the MAGA era) is a democratic operation?
Ask yourself 3 questions:
1) Do I live in an echo chamber?
2) Do I spend all my energy barking when I hear a dogwhistle?
3) If this was me, how would I even know?

I don't think it's necessarily the Dems.. if we had a RINO republican running for president they would just let Biden get beat, but they are terrified what Trump could do if he's put back into office, this will all go back to status quo once Trump isn't running and they get their republicans in… guys like Jeb Bush

I personally would like to see all the rhetoric calm down, this isn't good for the country, the media needs to tune things down instead of stirring the pot

The Democratic Party, the party who has claimed "Donald Trump is a threat to democracy!!", just subverted the will of the people by deposing their democratically-chosen nominee. They deposed Biden not because he's done something unforgivable or unamerican, but because they're terrified he (and by extension, they) will lose the election to Trump.

Anyone who doubts the Democrats would steal an election to gain power, you've just been exposed to the truth.

We are watching a bloodless coup because the Democrats are terrified of losing power.

It's not the "will of the people".

At most it's the will of some percentage of democrats.

And it absolutely isn't a "coup".
The number isn't six. It's a half-dozen!

I agree with your point but I think it is actually 3 in a row.

1. This DNC went all in for Hillary in 2016 to keep The Burn from winning the nomination if it were a level playing field.
2. The DNC cleared the primary field for Biden after the South Carolina primary in 2020 - once again to keep the Bernie from winning the nomination.
3. And a political coup was just orchestrated in 2024 to euthanize the primary winner (Biden) and the DNC will Devine a process on the fly to select a nominee before the end of August.

This is a great point - I want to add that R Kennedy Jr is this time's Bernie.

The salient point in the OP is that their motivation is fear of losing. The clear implication is that if they thought he would win they'd be perfectly fine with a dementia patient being POTUS. That just how corrupt they are.

The Dem party couldn't care less about the Dem voters or any other voters for that matter . They care about power and control and installing a permanent ruling class that does whatever they want to do and everyone else has no say whatsoever. If they suceed it will not end well for them imo, but I don't have a clear vision of the timeline . It will be years to decades tho.

You can easily see that this has all been orchestrated. From the early debate debacle to how all Dems & media are falling in line behind Harris. She is a complete disaster and the media is working their ass off to spin it in every way for her. They are already spreading the "is Trump too old" narrative. Funny, 3 weeks ago 81 wasn't old but now the media BSh*t machine is in overdrive.

Thats fine. But don't pretend it's a democratic process.

The Party calls the shots. As they do in marxist countries. As they want to for all of us.

I disagree. I believe prior to the debate most Dem voters thought Biden was fundamentally capable. That debate shined the light on the truth and that is why they bagged him. Not sure on the inner circle.

If only the soccer mom's and POC that make up the dem voters would notice the hypocrisy and outright lies their party leadership sells them day after day, year after year, election after election.

But I won't hold my breath.

If that were true they wouldn't let him say POTUS. Get Kamala in and then she's running as an incumbent.

Yes, they believe he's incapable - but incapable of winning is all they care about.

If it was just a $ figure it would have been over a long time ago. I think there's much more. We will expose you for your transgressions and it will be over so fast you won't have a chance to expose the rest of us , or we will kill you and your whole family . Something more like that imo.

I'm a lifelong Republican.

How do you reconcile that the. Biden's are a "crime family" when Trump, his business and his family have literally been convicted or adjudicated of fraud (business, insurance, Trump U and charity).

I don't have any idea about Biden's but I assume he has been corrupt. How is Trump not the head of a crime family too?

I fundamentally disagree. A lot of his court cases were prior to being in office. Trump U, Leasing Issues, charity. Those were all fraud that he agreed to the rulings. The fact that I don't agree with Trumps morals doesn't make me any less a constitutional conservative.

Different kinds of "crime". One is a businessman that's get loose with the rules, gets caught, and ponies up.

The other is using governmental power for personal profit, up to the point that could, in different times, be considered treason. Then add in groping little girls, showering with his daughter and all the rest.

Trump has to win , or this will be the last election where the "people" actually have a vote, that counts.
Sure, the shell of democracy will be around, but votes won't count otherwise.

How do reconcile that Congress has been working this angle for 2 years with nothing much evidentiary. Everyone has "stories" but I believe if we had proof we would be showing it. Said the same thing I. 2020.

Lots of anecdotal or "common sense" evidence.
