I rolled my eyes a bit at Hulk Hogan and Kid Rock, then was reminded of this

Hulk was supposed to be pretty funny and entertaining imo. He was there for the Gen X crowd. Kid Rock is personal friends with Dana White, Trump, Tucker etc. I think it's silly to complain.

Would have been pretty cool to have Kodak Black from the great state of Florida (who I believe Trump pardoned) there to appeal to the younger kids, but the vast majority of the crowd would have been dumbfounded lol. It would be meme city today

Macarena was just line dancing for Dems. They can't two step, can't do the Cotton Eyed Joe. Hell, they even sucked at The Hustle in the 70s.

Van Jones didn't think it was cringe:

Quote:

After CNN contributor Scott Jennings spoke with excitement about wrestler Hulk Hogan, UFC head Dana White and former President Trump's upcoming speeches at the RNC, Jones said, "This spirit that this guy [Jennings] has, you guys think it's because he's drunk, he's not, this whole thing is like this."

"The last time I was at a convention that felt like this was Obama 2008. There's something happening," he said.

Quote:

"Dreams become nightmares and nightmares become dreams. You're watching a nightmare become a dream for Donald Trump," Jones said. "He has had a nightmarish summer with, you know, convictions and indictments and all kinds of stuff, almost got shot. It's becoming a dream for him." ...

Hogan flat out said he was there to entertain. His opener was a bit and he said so; it was part of his message of evolving from an entertainer to having a real opinion on politics after he dropped the facade of Hulk Hogan.

People were not paying attention if they didn't catch this. It was plain as day though. He explicitly told us what he was doing.

I'm so going to have to find a clip of it on YouTube. It sounds like he was a blast to watch, just like back in the day.

True, there will be plenty of cringe from old white people at this year's DNC…performers, politicians, and attendees alike.
