How would that even work?

"Hey, bro, I need to improve my poll numbers, so let's fake an assassination attempt. When I give my big speech, you need to shoot me in the ear. Not in my head, of course, just the ear. I have total confidence in your aim."

If you were in Trump's situation, is there anyone you would trust to make that shot? Even if you had a brother who was a Marine veteran and a gold medalist in Olympic rifle events, would you literally bet your life on it? Knowing how awful just a two-inch error would be? You sure as well wouldn't hire a dumb 20-year old who got rejected from a gun club for bad marksmanship and attitude.

A more plausible way of faking it is to not use an actual bullet. Just have Trump hide a fake blood capsule behind his ear and have it burst open conveniently when the shooter fires a blank or deliberately misses. But then actually kill the shooter to make sure he won't spill the secret before the election, and also kill a bystander because...why exactly? Just to add real drama to the fake assassination?

I suppose that some people might believe that Trump is crazy/evil enough to deliberately sacrifice others' lives just to make himself look heroic. But that's a really severe case of TDS.

Haven't read whole thread but think the only plausible solution to avoid violence is a split. Much like Czechoslovakia's between liberal and conservative.
