That tight circle has alarmed many Democrats who are questioning whether Biden is receiving realistic data about the plight of his candidacy.

I do not think the dems really want a broken party, they'd rather be unified behind a candidate. Dem power brokers just out there deciding who will be the Dem nominee without regard to votes and trying to jail the opposition leader.

Takes big ole balls to be doing that while claiming your opponent "wants to end democracy".

This is a dumpster fire for Dems. Joe completely humiliated himself with that debate revealing to even the most head-in-the-sand dems that he is mentally gone and has been for a while now (you know, like Republicans have been saying since the first election). Then with the attempted assassination on Trump, people are energized and it isn't for the Dems. They have to do something and Joe cannot get it done. So what now? There is just over 15 weeks until election day. 109 days. Whoever they choose will tell us a lot but you almost feel like it has to be Kamala. Even if she were to come out and say she had to interest in being president, that looks terrible.

So let's say they choose for Kamala to lead the ticket. Does Joe resign the presidency and let Kamala take over? If no, that says a lot about what they think of her competence since he is too mentally gone to run for president but still considered a better leader than her. If they do let her have the distinction of being the first female president, they run the risk of her actually being in the public eye and revealing how truly terrible and unlikeable she is. And since we know she is unlikeable and unelectable, does nominating her mean they have given up on 2024 to focus their efforts on 2028 or does it mean that they know they can just turn the voting machine up to maximum levels?

Do they go with someone else? If they go with a different nominee, what does that say about their current VP and their confidence in her? Does someone think they can take on Trump this late in the game and rally the support necessary to beat him? Whoever they nominate either has to be sure he has a serious shot at the presidency or someone who has absolutely no interest because losing will be difficult to overcome in an up-and-comers career.

25th Amendment will never happen. You need a 2/3 vote in both houses. Dems insisted that Biden was fine for the last two years and would never go along with it. Now that it's working against them, Republicans would be stupid to step in and help them get it done. If Biden was competent enough to serve the last two years, he's competent enough to serve the next four months.

No he won't. One of the issues with dementia is that the person thinks they're still 40 and can do everything. Even a humiliating situation they will rationalize as their choice or won't even know they should be humiliated. They will replace it with bravado.

Whats right is right. 25th the geezer. So what if it "helps" the Dems in some way? It's one of the most embarrassing blemishes on the presidency in our nation's history and it'd look terrible for the first 25th vote to occur: R's played politics instead of adhering to their constitutional duty.
