As of Tuesday afternoon, just one sitting Congressional Democrat Rep. Lloyd Doggett of Texas had called on Biden to bow out of the race, and another Rep. Jared Golden of Maine suggested it did not matter since it "has been clear … for months … Donald Trump is going to win."

Golden (D-Me.) wrote in an op-ed for the Bangor Daily News that the 81-year-old president's "poor performance" in his debate last week against Donald Trump "was not a surprise" but demurred about whether Biden should actually step aside and allow another Democrat to top the ticket, dismissing it as "post-debate hand-wringing."

"Biden's poor performance in the debate was not a surprise," Golden wrote. "It also didn't rattle me as it has others, because the outcome of this election has been clear to me for months: While I don't plan to vote for him, Donald Trump is going to win. And I'm OK with that."....

......"There are winners and losers in every election," Golden went on. "Democrats' post-debate hand-wringing is based on the idea that a Trump victory is not just a political loss, but a unique threat to our democracy."

"I reject the premise," Golden said in a shot across the bow to the president's re-election campaign messaging. "Unlike Biden and many others, I refuse to participate in a campaign to scare voters with the idea that Trump will end our democratic system."

The co-chair of the moderate House Blue Dog Coalition also rejected any "pearl-clutching" from Democrats over the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.....

Never heard of this Golden guy. Wish more Democrats were like him. How is he getting elected in a district that went for Trump twice?!? He needs to switch parties!

Doggett? Unfortunately for me, I know him. He was my rep for awhile until redistricting. He was also on the buying end of a condo transaction wherein I repped the owner. The guy is a POS and a PITA to work with. Talk about entitled!

During the same period I had a similar transaction with Ann Richards. She was the exact opposite, easy and a hoot to work with.

One of the most do-nothing Democrats ever. I used to live in his district. The guy has been riding LBJs and Jake Pickle's coattails for decades without lifting a finger.

There was a proposal for a new HUD regulation that would have directly very adversely affecting my business. At the time, I wrote to Doggett as my rep, Cornyn and Kay Bailey as my Senators (blech on Cornyn).

I received responses from both Cornyn and Kay they would look into the matter. Doggett? Not a word.

(BTW, that regulation was scrapped.)

These people voted en bloc for the crap that Biden's handlers were pushing. They support the program of the left. Whoever the dems run will be chosen by Biden's current handlers and will support their leftist platform.

It is a good sign. Golden is a Democrat in a district Trump carried.

The cockroaches serving in districts or states with Trump majorities are running for cover.

I think Doggett has run for every office up and down the ballot. Career politician. Guess he is worried he will be out of job. And his wife who has some kind of swamp job will no longer be useful.
Lifelong Austinite and sip, who has tried to good ole boy it, but folks see through to the polished one who sips tea.

So much this. Only to a Democrat does "not competent to run for office" =/= "not competent to HOLD that office". This really just tells us how bad Harris really is when they won't remove someone they all know is unfit for office and replace him with his chosen successor.

I guess this is today's reminder that liberals are not serious people.
