TSC has recently been getting the beginnings of a dose of the Bud Light treatment with the exposure of their corporate giving and DEI goals. Now they claim to have turned over a new leaf, but the same CEO is in charge who is a big lefty. I'm skeptical that this "change" is real.

This is another example of corporate leadership not understanding their customer base. Or not caring. Or just so arrogant that they think those rubes buying farm supplies won't ever find out.

I'm going to give up on alcohol.

This is how I plan to do it.

I'm going to rename all of the alcohol I drink and say it's not alcohol.

Can't drink all day if you don't start in the morning, off to crack open a Boor.

As mentioned in another thread, the same people who implemented it are still in charge. Are they changing course because DEI is a cancer, or because they are making less money? If the latter, do you feel better about giving them your money now vs before they made the decision?

Not directed at OP. Just a curiosity question as moves like this do impact shopper's decisions to varying degrees and am interested in people's thought processes if in fact it makes it easier for them to give TSC their money now.

For those in the suburbs, between Home Depot and Ace Hardware you can pretty much cover anything you'd need in the suburbs. For rural America, every town has plenty of options. I get all my stuff in Lampasas or San Saba from local vendors even though both towns have a TSC.

For the life of me I'll never get why any of these big companies, with easily replaced products and services, do this crap. You exist to turn a profit and increase shareholder worth. That's it.

Yep! Ace is the Place! They are local owned and usually have good service. Or some other local option.

These companies that are saying they're going to stop being "woke" doesn't mean they're not going to do the things others get upset at them about, they're just not going to be as open and public about it.

It's no different than schools saying they're getting away from DEI/woke things. They'll still teach the same things, just tweaked enough so as to still be in compliance.

The only thing changing is what is being said to the masses, that's it.

Class action lawyers should be getting rich by suing the BOD members and senior executives of these DEI/ESG focused companies for breach of their fiduciary duties for their shareholders.
