Gunman randomly emptied two magazines into a splashpad of kids and their families. Left and barricaded himself in his home before killing himself. No deaths reported yet, but lots of critically injured including young kids.

I live close by didn't hear it happen but the search helicopters were up for at least an hour late last night so I could pretty much guess what had happened. They've been playing rap music at the park all weekend and it's been annoying as f***.

Impressive. This one sentence is filled with all the info I need to determine not only is this a no-go, but I don't want to be remotely near the area for the duration.

There is another reason the shooting in Round Rock won't make the news.

Unless it turns out it was a white dude targeting blacks, the media buries black on black violence. There was a shooting at a family party in Princeton, WV a couple of days ago. Barely made the news because it was black on black.

The REK/Lyle Lovett concert at the Bush school last week was a free family event. Weird that it didn't devolve into a mass shooting event.

I'm sipping a drink watching the Ags/Gators and she's reading her phone. Convo goes like this. And is this not the sad reality of life in 2024 America?

More like ignored than suppressed. Media in Austin is pretty left nowadays. They don't have to put a lid on it if they just pretend everything was fine.

Chief Banks just gave a full description of who they're looking for. Everything else is still under investigation.

Sadly, it is the same story every single time. This is what happens when massive numbers of boys are raised without a father, or raised by one who is already involved in the gang/drug/criminal lifestyle. Young black men, whether through what they see first hand, hear/see in rap videos, or both, have been taught that the solution to anything, especially any kind of diss, is to pull a gun and just spray bullets all over the place.

As time passes and the city core gentrifies or taxes and property values increase, the "ring" of aging residential development that remains relatively affordable expands outward, and the groups of the population looking for the cheapest housing move within that ring. It is where the most endemic crime is as well. It is reaching into the suburbs of Austin now in places.

It really is amazing how consistent and dishonest the MSM are.

I had a house in RR from 2015 to 2021. Where I lived was a great middle class neighborhood that was almost entirely white. RR is kind of strange in that you can go from a place like my old neighborhood to the ghetto real quick.

RR has become a decent sized city with great neighborhoods and bad neighborhoods. It's no longer just a small suburb of Austin.
