Didn't all of your professors at A&M who had PhD's go by Dr.? All of mine did. I've also noticed that most head of schools in private schools who hold doctorates go by Dr. as do public school superintendents who hold doctorates. Even some school principals go by Dr. if they hold a doctorate degree.

I can fault Jill Biden for many things. But, I don't find it unusual that she goes by Dr. Biden as she does hold a doctorate degree.

In this country, we have customarily reserved the title "Dr." for people who actually heal people. Doctors, surgeons, dentists, orthodontists, etc.

The only Drs. of philosophy or education who choose to be called "doctor" are those who are insecure or want to pad a resume. Jill is one of the only EdDs I've ever heard of who has used the title "doctor". A move clearly meant to pad her resume.
