My guess is they finally realized having a central casting Bond villain as your spokesperson did not play well. Especially since everything they espouse is aimed at taking individual's rights and liberties. Would posit a rebrand is coming trying to make the totalitarian goals more palatable.

Any source other than The National Pulse, which is less reputable than The Weekly World News? Right now the few sites reporting on it are all in on circular reporting, and none are even remotely reputable.

I would agree with you if it didn't have so much influence over global events. Just look at how many world leaders/heads of state are involved with this thing. Do you really think the WEF doesn't have significant influence over what governments around the world do? Just look at their agendas and compare to what's happening in the real world. Look who's involved. It's not hard to connect the dots here.
