I had a prof from Columbia. He was an idiot.
I have known a couple of people who went to Columbia in the late 90s. They were normal people before they went and they're radical leftists now. Oh, and "educators." Thankfully, they live in California these days.
This is so disturbing.
A friend of mine was not a smart student. Long story, but his wealthy family helped him find his way to Columbia. The simple fact he was able to graduate from Columbia on-time, with relative ease, has always devalued the degree from that school in my eyes.
His journey took him through a couple public universities, onto a high-tone private university, before going to graduate school at Columbia.
The more private and costly the school he attended, the wackier his ideals got. It was watching the 'easy times, weak men' circle in real-time.I learned from his experience, people like him go there for the network/connections, not for the education. He got a cushy job, and has done well for himself over the years.
But now?? Smart/Rich people have to be watching this, asking what type of connections their kids are going to make at these schools. If the education isn't better, and the network is looney...why continue to support them? I guess Kraft agrees...
