Many years ago I heard that recruiting is actually one of the hardest/worst assignments in the Army. Not many 'volunteer' for that one.

Yes, that's why recruiters can be pests if you happen to show a little interest. Officers at top don't want to hear the whys, just want numbers to show to their boss. That's why recruiters get in trouble, they sometimes hide bad stuff on kids records.
Used to, during inflation and recession folks would join military to ride it out. Not now.

Seems like every day we are seeing more stories that bring up the " Just when you think they couldn't get any stupider"

I don't understand this logic but, it is extremely common.

If I was a recruiter in today's Clown World, I'd plead with any patriotic red blooded American that we need them more than ever to fight the silent war for our military tradition. Just join, suck up the crazy, and keep your head on straight because one day, probably sooner than later, we are going to need good people inside the military to openly protect Americans from this sickness infecting our great military institutions. It won't be long before tyranny turns the military against the civilians. You can see it coming.
