He also goes on to talk about how hating someone really hurts you more than the person you're hating. And he's not wrong. When you hate someone, it really mostly affects you, because that person either doesn't know or doesn't care. So free yourself from that hate and it will be better for you. All good points.

I'm trying to cut down a little bit on politics. I'm just sick of the entire thing. I hate the injustice going on in our country right now and I still want to keep connected to a degree but life is too short. But sometimes it does feel good to vent as well and forums like this are meant for that. I don't talk politics much outside of here.

I think this is closest to the truth. He IS stupid, but nobody who claims to be Catholic is stupid enough to misunderstand the Church position on abortion. He's evil and willfully so. The bishop is giving him an out by blaming stupidity IMO.
