How do we deliver this message to every Californian.

This would have made a good Babylon Bee article.

Quote:

From the relentless heat waves that transform every summer into an endurance test, to the howling tornadoes that periodically redraw the landscape, Texas presents a unique set of challenges that might give prospective residents pause. This Lone Star State, while rich in culture and steeped in history, also dances with nature's extremes and wrestles with issues that can impact daily living.

Whether it's the vast distances that stretch between its cities or the fierce political winds that shape its policies, Texas is a state of stark contrasts and daunting complexities. Before you don a cowboy hat and settle into the heart of Dixie, here are 19 compelling reasons why living in Texas might not be for everyone.

You can be proud of being a Texan and realize calling us the "heart of Dixie" is deeply insulting to the truly southern states.

Funny how having actual diversity of thought and how people vote is a negative to these freaks.

As as non-Texan from Georgia attending A&M, I can say this. Texas is unique and has its own culture. It is not part of Dixie.

writer lost all credibility on that stupid statement.

I always liked that intro at Kyle for Aggie football that said "we're not the South, we're not the west, we're Texas".

Texas is the "Lone" Star state.

We aren't defined by an association with any other state. Texas stands alone just fine. It is distinctly unique from any other place on the planet.

Certain parts of Texas lack cultural diversity, which might be unappealing to those accustomed to a more cosmopolitan environment. This can affect everything from dining options to cultural festivals and community dynamics.

Because Commie-fornia doesn't have earthquakes or wild fires. They have no political winds to consider. It isn't very hot in San Diego in the summer.

But for sure dissuade any of them from moving to Texas. That's fine with me.

It is insulting to true Texans, too.
I know this has already been said multiple times here, but it bears repeating: Texas is not the South. Texas is Texas.
Now, if you want to talk about the Dixie Chicken, yeah, we are the gold standard ... 50 years running!

Yes, but it has a dearth of liberal policies and left wing radicals. Places like Vermont or Maine that are white as their driven snows are more diverse and have more culture because of their more cosmopolitan and accepting liberal policies. It doesn't matter that they don't know the first real thing about other cultures or live with any, it's the thought that counts.

Some of the arguments are just stupid:

  • Extreme heat - Uh isn't the Mojave in California?
  • Scarcity of water - Isn't California in a perpetual drought?
  • Large bugs and wildlife - that is everywhere
  • High Crime Rates in certain area: Goes for every state. Where there's an urban area, there is high crime rate
  • High property tax - It would cost me at least 2 million more to buy a similar house in the Bay Area. That will cover about 20 years of my property tax
  • Cultural Homogeneity - WTF is the author on? There's more diversity in Dallas than in the Bay Area. Unless you're in SF or Oakland, you rarely will se blacks.

No, it doesn't. Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, and Fort Worth are all good-sized cities full of kooks and liberal policies.
