Got a social media reminder that 4 years ago today was our first trip to the grocery store wearing a mask - as required by Los Angeles County. The mask requirements had gone into effect on April 10th including - walking through the neighborhood.

In person dining had already been shutdown in California for one month at this point.
Note that masks were not required in The OC.

Up here in Nor Cal we watched LA morons chase down surfers, bulldoze skate parks, and close restaurants while Gav enjoyed maskless eating out, baseball, his kids attending school in-person, and general everyday life.

I saw a younger girl wearing one while pumping gas today. So weird.

We were in Nocona tx a couple of weeks ago for national little dribblers tournament. One day we ate at the Nocona brewery place and a couple came in wearing masks and finally took them off to eat and drink. They way the dressed and looked, they were definitely libs. I wanted to go ask them why they were wearing them but I left it alone.

I tried to go to an Ophthalmologist in Bryan about a month ago - and when I got there a sign on the door said you must wear a mask. I thought perhaps it was an old sign that they just forgot to take down.

When I got to the front desk the receptionist pushed, with her bare hands, an unpackaged paper mask across the desk and told me to put it on.

I laughed and walked out.

You know I would love to just calmly ask one of them myself. Just as nicely as I can ask them what it is they are so scared of and what is it going to take for them not to wear them anymore? How they can live their lives like this. But then I think, nah.

But I would love to get an honest answer, not one in attack/defense/mockery or anger just truly want to know what it is they are so scared of. And if they intend to live the rest of their lives like this.

Humans were not meant to walk around 24/7 with masks. And it's been proven they didn't/don't do anything which we all knew along they didn't. It's just this brainwashing and fear.

Still wearing them outside. I see people of all ages still but so many college age kids it's staggering. They were never even an age range that had to worry about anything.

I was in the grocery store deli last week getting some lunch meat and the guy slicing it was wearing a mask. He mishandled something on the counter and i pushed it back across to him. He lost it and started hollering at me for touching a container with my bare hands.

I live near the University of Oregon campus, it's scary how many apparent students are still walking around outside with masks.

What's even worse was it happened in red states. It's expected for places like California or New York. There's no surprise or shock for them, but Texas?

We shouldn't have had to deal with things the way we did, for as long as we did, when we're one of the reddest states in the nation.

As for people still wearing them... most probably are a little strange to begin with. And for those that do it for their health, then who cares, they're doing what they feel is best for them.

Yesterday I saw a young, obviously very fit and healthy guy out walking his dog while he was wearing a mask. This whole thing and the after effects is just so bizarre.

Sadly almost half the people in this country are celebrating over this human destruction.

Yep, I will never forgive Abbott for how he handled Covid in Texas.

I can only think of one good thing to come from the masking debacle.

My mom does custom sewing and she used a bunch of surplus fabric and made masks and was selling them from her front porch for $3 each. For the better part of a year she was making north of $500/week selling what amounted to scrap fabric masks that she could make while watching her soap operas.

This is the way

I remember our county judge saying we would never have any shutdowns or mask requirements like other places were doing, and how we were about freedom. Very shortly thereafter, things were being shut down and masking mandates started.

To be even more idiotic, they instituted a curfew, but only for those under 18. However, the curfew did not apply to anyone going to or from work, to or from school, looking for a job (not sure what sort of job looking goes on during those hours), getting groceries, going to the bank, getting fuel for their vehicle, and several other instances. I am surprised there are so many stupid people but covid put them front and center.

I still cant believe conservatives have given Abbott a pass after he totally went full on ****** promoting masks and lockdowns.

I see plenty of elderly white people wearing them as well, but they're of the age where, "what can it hurt" mentality makes a little more sense.
