If the E stood for equality, as in equal treatment, then everyone would be good with it.

Equity, means something different. It means redistribution of talents, wealth, and opportunities and it giving them to people who didn't earn them.

I'm not saying you do or don't support DEI, but glad to hear you don't.

You can completely remove Equity or Equality from it though and it still completely fails. The only Diversity that is actually beneficial is diversity of thought, but every corporation wants all their drones to drink the corporate kool-aid and think the same way. If you are socially conservative, you'd best keep that to yourself.
