It's O.J. Simpson's fault that we have the Kardashians.

also I was in law school when the verdict was read out in class:

all the black students stood up and cheered.

a sign of what would be happening to the country over the next 25 years.

They'll blame his death on Trump, just like the Lib idiots are doing with the random NYC white woman punching.

That flashed through my mind as well. But Bobby died in 2003 and he and Kris divorced in 1991, before the murders. (Kris married Bruce Jenner one month after her divorce was final.)

Bobby Kardashian met OJ when they attended USC together and had been close friends ever since. It was Kardashin who had OJ's garment bag when OJ returned from Chicago day after the murders. His law license had long been inactive but he reactivated it to avoid being called as a witness. The gambit worked and he sat next to OJ everyday of the trial to keep up the appearance.

Yeah, remember when OJ said he would do everything to find who it was? And all along all had to do is look in the mirror.

The Nicole Brown Simpson murder was the first piece of memorable news I read on the Internet before seeing on television or in the newspaper.

I was logged into my Prodigy account and the news came across the home page.

Oh, and OJ was guilty.

Always got me - your ex wife and mother of your kids is brutally murdered. Could you ever put on the gloves that were worn by the person who killed her, let alone look at those blood stained gloves or even be close to them.

But he was the one on trial. And then to make the spectacle of it was ridiculous as I described above. Most people would be appalled at that but I'm not sure if he had a choice or not. But I would think it was the defense that wanted him to do that, can't quite remember exactly, but it was weird, ridiculous and provided one of the most memorable moments of the trial.
No, it was one of the prosecutors, Christopher Darden, who stupidly wanted him to put on the gloves. You never give the defense total control of a piece of evidence like that.

For those of you too young to have either been alive when this happened or not been old enough to understand, this is before social media and literally every day on the news, when we actually used to watch it, you would hear them say "today in the OJ trial" before they would talk about pretty much any other news or at least in the early parts of the newscast. This thing gripped the country completely. There was nowhere you could go and not hear about it.

That makes more sense. They really screwed up the whole trial. But if you're going to do something like that, it still should not have been with rubber gloves underneath. Of course it wasn't going to fit. But the prosecution again as I've said in a few of the other post, completely screwed up this case from the beginning to the end, and this was a dumb move as you said.

Between the gloves and the shoes in the photographs to the blood, it's amazing how badly they screwed this trial up, but you add the racial tension in and I don't think they could've acquitted him.

I do remember some of the jurors actually and taking Photos after the trial, or at least smiling and being happy, it was quite the spectacle. It's been a long time since I thought about a lot of this, but gosh, it really was everywhere at the time.

Also remember seeing a documentary on it several years later, talking about a lot of the information that the jury actually did not get that the public did. And I think I even remember one of the jurists saying had they known a bunch of the other stuff they may have given a different verdict.

I don't remember if they were sequestered or not, but you would have to think anybody on that jury was concerned with what would happen to them with a guilty verdict. But then again I don't know if that played into it because I can't remember if they knew about the circus going on.

You can blame Johnny Cochran for that, or maybe Robert Shapiro because he brought Cochran on board the Dream Team. It was Cochran that completely redecorated the Rockingham home with Afro-centric art and sculptures (from Cochran's own collection) and removing most of the family pictures that had Nicole in them. So when the jury viewed the home (which is odd, it is usually the murder scene for a jury viewing, Judge Ito was an idiot) they saw the home of a very proud African American who had not forgotten his roots despite his success.

I recall that the trial went on break for a week in April 1995, and my mother quipped "What are they going to do for news?"

During that week, the Houston Post went out of business, and then the Oklahoma City bombing happened.

And OJ's hands and knuckles would swell when he was off his arthritis meds, whiich he was when Darden was dared to demand OJ try them on in front of the jury.

I was in college and watched the trial almost everyday in between classes, also was watching the Rockets/Knicks NBA Finals game when they broke away from the game to follow the Bronco chase.

I definitely remember both of those as well. Especially the bombing. Was it working in that same office when we heard the news and almost real time that day. Awful.

I was in line at Dutch Brothers getting my coffee when I heard the news. I asked the kids who were working there if they knew who he was. They said, "yes." Then I told them he died. They actually cheered. Then they started asking me all sorts of questions. "Did you see the car chase live?" Well duh! I'm a Texan and I was watching the Rockets play. "Did you watch the trial? Do you think he did it?" Yes and yes.

His family is asking for privacy and grace. You know who else wanted privacy and grace? Nicole and Ron.

I missed the White Bronco chase because I was in the Field at Fort Hood doing tank gunnery.

When I got back from gunnery a few days later, people were talking about OJ and I had no idea what they were talking about.

But yeah, the trial ... Nonstop coverage.
