It's sad and maddening what has happened to our FBI. They were hands down at one point the most respected law enforcement agency in the world. Now, going around questioning people about legal social media postings??
I guess the FBI doesn't wear suits anymore. And why would they refuse to show their identification?

I worked for the FBI after receiving by BA at A&M. I wrote my mini-thesis about the Bureau for my Masters. I am furious about what it has become. I don't recognize that organization. It ain't what it used to be. .

If by some miracle Republicans get the presidency, the House and Senate in 2024 like we had in 2020 there needs to be a reckoning over the last 4 years. My guess is that spineless Republicans would treat it like just another 2/4 years though.

Funny, when I was a kid it seemed everyone had a reverent respect for G-men. Then all that stuff about J. Edgar Hoover's weird behavior and selective enforcement came out, and now all the crap about how the Bureau has been weaponized against 'political' enemies and you just shake your head.

There's a reason a few posters haven't been around in years when they were very active when Trump was in office and shortly into the Biden administration.

I also wouldn't be surprised if everyone that clicks "like" and/or shares the bot-like posts found on Twitter that the FBI traces back to those who are actively acting to cause harm to America, are on the FBI's system.

There's a reason why so many of the Jan 6th folks were found, and it wasn't because anyone called the feds on them, it's cause the feds just followed their online activity.

I had mixed feelings as well back then. It "felt" like the right thing to do, but at the same time, it gave the government way too much power to infiltrate our lives in ways they never could before. I forgot about Barr abruptly resigning, but I agree, that guy knew Pandora's box had been opened.

Turns out that was foreshadowing and not just inartful use of words.
