During my time in IC (decades ago), the people around me took the "don't be involved in politics" policy to heart. Even my boss (who was a genius as an engineer), had no idea which party would be more likely to raise taxes or lower taxes. They never voted and never even looked into politics. I think some of the people in my immediate circle had no idea what party the president even was, but I never asked, because that may come off as condescending. We were told during orientation to not engage in political discussions outside of work. I was into politics before I showed up, but I learned to keep quiet while I was there out of fear of getting into trouble for violating that policy.

And? Why would that require government intervention?

LOl, they are just like my daughters roommate at A&M who was given a mastercard for her tuition. and books and rent. She spent it at Northgate, then begged us to help pay rent. Then fussed about my daughter being given everything because we scrimped and saved to get daughter there and made her work.
Elitists are such clowns.

I travel to Maryland to work quite a bit. I fly into DC, rather than BWI, due to it being the only directly flight out of XNA. Please share, as I'd like to lose all hope as I drive up to Aberdeen.

Entitlement is a truly terrible disease. It has an unending appetite for more and yet the more it devours the less happy the person is because in the end it is based on envy. Envy is the most destructive of all the Deadly Sins in the end. So many problems and so much unhappiness are rooted in envy and it's really difficult for people to see it.

I honestly pity folks like this. They are doomed to a life of misery of their own making. You can't even really help them because they don't want to be helped, they just want to be miserable and self absorbed and they will either have you join them in misery or hate you. That is the nature of envy.

All agencies should be moved out of DC, but it won't have much impact on the political leanings of the employees.

I remember visiting the USDA offices of one of the reddest areas of the country and the employee parking lot was full of democrat bumper stickers.

Yep, the local head of Soil & Conservation in Mason County years back had a big portrait of Obama in the public waiting room, but also one in his private office. I asked him why he had that trash on his wall whereupon he got VERY indignant and informed me it was his President and he was proud of him. Wanted to know if I was racist and I said, Yep. Meeting was short.

I think that WOULD have an impact.

Getting them away from the cesspool that is DC will reduce the echo chamber they live in.

Plus, the kind of people that want to work for the agencies may change...many want to live the high life of the big city and the DC political circuit. Those kind of people may not want to work in Kansas City or Mobile or Grand Forks...
