Not sure what's motivating this but a draft is politically untenable so unless there's a massive war they're trying to clandestinely prepare for that's not going to happen.

This is about the results of leftist policy and leadership repelling the groups of people that traditionally predominantly chose military service as a career or a patriotic contribution or a start in life.

I served 8 years as USAF pilot. I was actually paid a year's salary to get out ahead of my commitment. This was called Voluntary Separation Pay. I jumped on the opportunity in 2007.

Got a letter in 2008 asking if I would come back. It was almost comical.

Why would any white male who is not a woke lib or a homosexual or a transvestite sign back up? Honestly? White conservative males are not wanted, especially Christians. I would not want to be a part of the new Sodom and Gomorrah US Military.

Bad recruitment numbers. And when people stop joining your military ranks historically it means your money is becoming worthless and your military might will follow.

I posted a graph on this a few weeks ago. Recruitment is way down from red states who historically have been the bulk of our armed forces.

And that's because of our current domestic War On White Men.

Id hate to be recruiter now, with the old man on my butt about numbers, and knowing why kids are signing up. LOL, was in during Jimmy Carters presidency. Biggest company was Transfer Point company at Ft. Jackson. (Boot camp). We would get a detail from them as the unqualified boots waited separation. Most were Puerto Ricans who were being separated because they couldnt speak English, and the second largest were kids who absolute whackos. Took one detail to get a recreation Mess Hall ready for summer, one kid couldnt do anything but walk around talking to himself.
I thought of the millions of dollars it took to get them there and for their ticket back home.

LOl, the anti war protests STOPPED with the ending of the draft. Liberals are fine with war as long as someone else does the fighting.

Airline industry was at all time low post 9/11. Combine that with raising the minimum retirement age for pilots, I was inclined to look elsewhere for steady work. I'be been with Johnson and Johnson Medical device since I got out in '07.

My goal was always most amount of money for least amount of work…hence I zero'd in on airline pilot. Had to pivot sure to 9/11 and discovered med device sales.

Yep, it ebbs and flows. When I was going in they were Stop-Loss'ing people. By the time I got out, they were paying people to leave. In the mid-90s, there was a mass downsize. It's all cyclical.

Saw a comment on FB saying something to the effect of - if they're really going to bring old crusty Veterans back on Active Duty, there are going to be a lot of new recruits seeking their safe spaces.

How does the military fight Climate Change? Do they shoot at the sky?

Pretty much what a buddy of mine has said. He is literally a couple of months away from finishing his last tour (4th deployment now) of duty and cannot pull the pin fast enough.

Before he deployed to Poland for this last go, he spent more time in DEI training and other useless crap than he did flying or training those under his command in actual Army related things. In his words, more or less, the Army is more concerned with it's social credit score than it is with actual military strategy, training, operations, etc. Sad state of affairs.

I turn 72 in May. Might have a bit of trouble on the AFPT and HW. Hope I could tape out, though. Brain is still decent mostly.

Probably nothing to worry about but agree with previous poster about some folks would have trouble with my non PC personna/attitude. I could do the 'put the O6 on the hat ' thing once more but the staff weenies would have to run for cover. And I would have to buy all the new uniforms/boots........

Let me think, I'm 44 and got out at 28 after six years.
