Democrats are ALL about virtue signaling to peers that they conform to various ideological tropes or ideals. They don't care if what they are doing is reasonable, logical, or effective. It simply has to be politically correct and allow for sanctimony and help each democrat maintain or improve their social hierarchical status amongst peers.

They can cause misery, destruction, waste, and chaos but as long as they can feel self righteous about it per ideological compliance with what the virtuous intent was, they are fine with it. They simply ignore the unintended negative consequences or blame their political opposition.

What did the governor think she was going to get when she mobilized national guard? Showing an armed presence was the whole point of the mobilization.

A line from the movie Aliens comes to mind after the commanding officers tells them to unload their weapons: "What are we supposed to use man, harsh language?"

Used to work with a guy who was in the Texas guard in the 60's. LBJ was President. They sent them to CC after hurricane Beulah to prevent looting and protect property. All had full combat gear including their M-16's. No bullets though.

Libs love Europe and in France for example, seeing a cop with a submachine gun or rifle is pretty common. Subways, museums, etc.
















And is in no way related to the fact they have so many friendly visitors from the middle east.

Submachine makes the most sense, but NG doesn't carry those.
