So every year it comes and goes. Many men on social media get a chance to virtue signal about how they appreciate women and to make demands, often unreasonable, about how women should be given "more" in the workplace. This usually elicits kudos and appreciation from the women on Linkedin. Then the women start complaining about how hard their lives are, how they want "a seat at the high table" and how how the paygap is unreasonable, how they should lose out on promotions and raises for having kids "while men don't have to". What they seem to forget it is that at the end of the day, companies are there to make money. Hiring a women who is pregnant and will be gone for a few months to a year does not help the business.
Companies also love this day, they always post warm and fuzzy stuff about how much women contribute and pledge to "do more".
Now my question is, in the last 20 years, what really has changed for women. I am not going back too far, just 20 years. Are those changes fair? good? Sustainable?
What more needs to be done for women that is fair and reasonable?
