Bad PR, but again these wheel bogey's are not a flawed design, it's just that Boeing in the news is going to be in bright lights for a while.

Edit: I think BF Goodrich is the mfg and they make like 99 percent of this stuff for Boeing and Airbus.

Didn't another plane lose a wheel or had a landing gear problem last week ? ? I think it was a 737.

Man, they are lucky that didn't kill someone. That's a lot of weight moving at a high velicity. Good thing it hit the fence or it could have rolled a long way.

There's a mechanic out there somewhere that's going to be in deep doodoo.

LOSE, dammit!

It may have been a loose wheel, but the plane would lose it, not loose it.

To lose it, it had to be loose.

Boeing: **Edit, this is in no way pointing the finger at Boeing for what was either a maintenance issue or simple failure, but just how their brass has to feel with every event that involves a Boeing air frame.**

The US Navy calls it TFOA, "Things Falling Off Aircraft."

And now every single time any plane made by Boeing has anything happen, it will be national news, and we'll be treated to countless people showing they have no clue about the airline industry.

The Boeing 777 has one of the best safety records in the industry. It has only suffered 8 hull loses, and of those, only three resulted in passenger & crew fatalities. One was pilot error, another was likely hijacked by the captain, and the third was blown out of the sky by Russia. The rest of the losses, save two, were due to fires during maintenance, fueling, or other ground operations.

Things break, engines fail, etc. but rarely do they result in anything serious happening because aircraft are designed with more than enough redundancy where a small failure is not an issue, and even a single engine failure is not going to result in a crash, assuming the pilots don't completely screw up.

The political left will blame "big business" while the political right will blame DEI.

Both sides end up doing nothing but showing their asses.

There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

It's also very similar to every company and corporation spending millions each year on DEI.

Every single time I see a pilot (not to mention any doctor) who's not a white male, I'm sorry to say I'll wonder if they got their pilots license because of their tinted skin, gender, whom they choose to have sex with, or how badly they want to be a different gender. That's really pathetic because that pilot may be the best pilot in their class.

Who's the racist?
Hate is how progressives sustain themselves. Without hate, introspection begins to slip into the progressive's consciousness, threatening the progressive with the truth: that their ideas and opinions are illogical, hypocritical, dangerous, and asinine.
This is backed by data.

That's gotta be a fun auto insurance call.

Jake: So, what was the cause of your accident?

Car Owner: Well, you see...a plane tire smushed my car.

Jake: What? How did you drive into an airplane?

Car Owner: Well, I didn't. You see...it fell off an airplane.

Jake: WHAT. THE. F?????? Ok...let me go check to system to see if that's covered.

If a Toyota loses a wheel on the highway you immediately assume the Discount tire/dealership mechanic forgot to torque the lugnuts. You don't blame Toyota...
Boeing has their issues but the 777 is nothing but an incredible machine. One of the best planes ever built

Another Boeing 757 loses a wheel just seconds after takeoff

United Airlines has spoken out after one of its Boeing 757 flights lost a wheel during takeoff from LA.
Yesterday (8 July), a United Airlines flight 1001 - a Boeing 757-200 plane - took off from Los Angeles in California, US at around 7:00am headed to Denver, Colorado. But during takeoff, it lost a landing-gear wheel.

And like always, the media, especially Fox News, tries to blame it completely on Boeing.

And to show their ignorance, they are using the video and pictures of the 777.

This is 100% on United Airlines maintenance.
