$14 million is a chump change for Liberty.

They're 2nd largest online university I believe...with 100,000 online students.

Do the math on the tuition..

And y'all remember Liberty didn't lockdown during covid...I don't believe they mandated mask either.
Write a check for the amount.

Why are universities involved in crime reporting? Does campus not fall under whatever police dept is in the area? Honest question.

I think most large universities have their own PD.

Right, but they're more like rent-a-cops. There's not a campus jail or courthouse, unless I'm mistaken. Rapes or other serious crimes should be investigated and prosecuted by real cops and da.

They are very much real cops. Last I checked having a jail or courthouse was not a requirement to be a law enforcement agency. In Harris county the county runs the jail and courthouse, does that mean all the other agencies aren't "real cops"?

So, campus cops investigate real crime and then what, pass on to the local DA or do they hand it off to local PD (real cops) to finish the job?

No need for snark, I wasn't aware campus cops did more than write parking tickets, provide security and enforce other campus rules.

They pass it on to the local DA. Speaking in terms of Texas A&M University Police, they are a full service police force.

Anecdotally, I once had a traffic accident on University Drive during an ice storm...off campus. CSPD was at their limit with all the accidents in town, so TAMUPD came to my accident site and ticketed the driver who was at fault.

Thx. Do campus cops actually conduct investigations of serious crimes like rape without the involvement of local PD?

This is the second Christian university that the Biden regime has been trying to break financially. The first was Grand Canyon University who has been attacked twice.
Yes but they were doing some shady **** even back in 2008. I'd want some recourse if I was mislead about the cost of attendance once I enrolled and committed to the courses.

I don't have a great deal of faith in the fed government for a lot of things, but I also don't have complete faith in for profit universities to police themselves.

My understanding is that...at TAMU, anyway...it is collaborative, with UPD taking the lead.

As others have noted, most campuses have their own security/police, and those that may not still have students who receive federal financial aid. It's the receiving of federal student aid that obliges abiding by the Clery Act.

In 2019, Michigan State University was fined $4.5 million under the Clery Act a record at the time in connection with the Larry Nassar sexual abuse scandal.
Isn't $4.5 million in 2019 the equivalent of $14 million today thanks to three years of Joe Biden's economic policy and inflation?
