Like hell we are? Every Septegenarian I know and grew up with is being pressed into service by family businesses or by family units to watch and care for grandkids,etc.
Why? Because in this sicko/lazy world there is not a lot of people you can trust to take care of your grandkids or to even show up timely at work and do a half ass job at it. It's not that we have to, or necessarily want to.
If the kids want to go on a family vacation and enjoy themselves, it's grandpa and grandmaw that have to step into the fray. In fact one young business owner I know, likes summer because he can hire high school kids who are eager to work. And may even hang around after they graduate.

Most of the younger generation I know are self employed or skilled independent contractors. You can't always depend on big business anymore. They will drop you like a hot rock if things go bad or mismanagement kills their revenue stream
