If this thread taught me anything, it's the term "piss hot" and that once a new term is established, people will beat it to death.

heard that term within the military community alot back in the day. the poster using it is clearly a govt employee which is funny in its own right as the USPS indirectly moves more pot than any of the other couriers.

Using cannabis offset to the point of near elimination my intake of alcohol. Net positive for me.

It lowers my anxiety leading to reduction / elimination of SSRI. Net positive for me.

Just had foot surgery and barely took the opiate pain meds. Net positive for me.

Plus I take pride in supporting the Montana ag industry and the host of small independent business that make up retail side.

But some folks don't like the smell and believe the racist rhetoric of 80 years ago regarding the ills of the devils herb.

Just think if you could do all those things without a drug?

Maybe he enjoys it and it doesn't affect you anyways. Stop caring what other people do.

I am not a fan of the smell these days, I didn't mind it when I was 19 but really don't like it now.

What is the racist rhetoric of 80 years ago? Did reefer madness say only black people smoked the stuff or are you just throwing that card out there?

See LaGuardia committee (and report), Henry Anslinger at the Federal Bureau of Narcotics, his influence on the AMA counter report and the Army "study of marijuana" from 1944 / 1945. Fauci using medical expertise to push a political / social position is not a new construct.

History Channel magazine had a lengthy piece on the history of cannabis which included a long section on the racial history of marijuana laws and enforcement.

tl;dr - marijuana was debatable as to who was using, for what purposes, its addictiveness and its influence on "society". Folks like Laguardia tried to introduce common sense. Folks like Anslinger took aim at the black and brown communities, the more prevalent users of cannabis no doubt, and explained their lazy and thieverish ways as being a result of the cannabis use. As such, it must be declared criminally dangerous and significant penalties on anyone caught in possession and use.

So beget 80+ years of locking blacks and browns up for an herbal remedy that has been used for several thousand years.

Yup. The only reason weed was ever criminalized was manufactured panic that the brown people were gonna steal white women to support their habit. Seems some parts of society haven't changed all that much. Hand wringing over something they don't understand or even use.

It would be interesting to analyze the general reaction to pot-related threads over time.

Whilst there remains a strong contingent of "you smelly pothead couch potato leaches of society who will never have a real job", there is noticeably more people who indicate use or who have friends who use cannabis, and more still who seem tolerant of others who use cannabis.

Progress even amongst some of the most socially conservative is progress on weed indeed.

You missed that apparently we have "pothead" and "pissed hot" on our permanent record.

I've never pissed hot on a drug test and never will. So alas I will be a lowly non-certified pothead.

If I understood the benefits of certification perhaps I could order a home piss test.

What gets me high is knowing my body is clean, I can pass a test unlike a pothead.

Nobody cares. I haven't had to take a piss test since 2009. Such a stupid take.

If only we could destigmatize smoking tobacco again. There's a lot of health benefits of cigarettes that nobody acknowledges.

Plenty of us out there that don't use, couldn't care less if others do.

One exception. I really don't want to smell it. It smells kind of rancid in comparison to what it smelled like 50 or so years ago when I smelled it at parties.

I only burn flower on my back porch or well away from others and not in public. And try to minimize the stank I import with clothes. I obviously don't mind the smell for the most part but many do and I respect that. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, ironic as a few may find it.

As mentioned earlier, a lot of places you smell it now smelled bad before. Generally areas where people give no ****s about the law are pissing in the streets, ****ting in the shrubbery, puking on the park bench, and generally unclean. It's just now people say "damn, all I can smell is weed".

In NYC at least last o was there they had scent machines along 5th Ave and similar. Not perfect but some recognition things could smell better.

I use my dry herb vape; no lingering smell at all.
