I think it is very apparent that this Commandant does not value anything that has a history within the Corps. He absolutely does not want a cadet to be able to say, "we do it this way because that is how it was done to us." That's one reason he wants the Fish Academy, no interaction between pissheads and fish, and only his selections doing the training. That's why he wants less outfit culture. Hell, that's why he threatened to suspend the RV's for 2 years. He wants zero training to be done the way it was done before. He clearly values frogs because they don't have any preconceived ideas or thoughts about outfit culture or why things happen. Put all his "Yes" men/women in place. Break it all down and build it back in an easier environment. Better retention. March to 3,000 lame ass cadets…

It's disgusting to me.

My opinion here...

I bet if you can find one of his pissheads, they would tell you that he took off 2nd semester fish year for 'military training' cause he wasn't one of the top fish and wanted the easy way out.

Everything he is doing, is trying to water down the Corps and change the Corps experience.

Last I heard on the RV thing, from someone who would know, is RV juniors were limited to 10 pushups.
What is even the point of that? It makes no sense. 10 pushups takes less than 10 seconds. It is like what happens when you miss a freethrow in jr high basketball practice.

Everyone who was in the Corps knows people who went to staff cause they wanted out of the outfit for one reason or another. It isn't always about the best cadets on staff, especially minor unit staffs. There were some questionable selections on ours, till you look at contract status...

I was on the Fish Drill Team one of the first years after it was reinstated, and good lord we had to do 500-600 pushups per practice.

"Butt placement" give me 25
"Limp hand" give me 25
"Youre ugly" give me 25

I never understood the concept of watering down the experience. If you didn't like the experience, then you left the Corps. Happened all the time.

This. When you water it down you get the worst kind of attrition, people that would have been awesome who don't join in the first place. If you let the whiners who don't want to PT or have someone hurt their feel feels run the Corps then it destroys it.

When I look back at my time in the Corps the thing I treasured most is the relationships and bonds I built with the guys who we made it through 4 years with. When I think about what was most valuable to me it was being pushed to my limit and beyond repeatedly and discovering that I just needed to keep going and I could take it. It gave me a toughness and self confidence to take on anything else in life. I learned to suck it up and power through and deal with it. Life isn't fair so don't expect it to be. It's hard for me to equate how much value and impact that has had in my life.

Essentially everything the Commandant is trying to do here is to attack those two things.

Where is the commandants plan located? He states he is reevaluating and reexamining his proposed plan. Has he produced the plan? Has anyone seen his plan?

Same response as other thread...

Everything has been quiet since the response on Sunday.

Commandant supposedly had a meeting with the Corps of Cadets Association on Monday, but I have never heard what happened there.

I have been busy at work, and my sources have all been quiet this week.

I passed along that lots of people would like to see the Board of Visitors recommendations/plan in case any of them receive a copy / have a source for that.

Maybe the Ohio State ROTC needs a new commandant. Anyone have Ross Bjork's number?
