We need more people like him, as this is the way to change the mindset of the younger generations.
Listen to the message and look past the image.chickenfingers said:

Tom is more influential than most politician's, pundits, etc. You can choose not to listen to him, but younger people put a lot of value into what musicians have to say. Any person who is truly about freedom, small government, the truth, and the like -- they're good in my book.chickenfingers said:

This is Exhibit A on how to not win people over to your side.chickenfingers said:

To be fair chickenfingers judged TM by his political messaging in his lyrics and then found what he thought would be the strongest argument to get people to reject his message. Which would be his atypical appearance.CC09LawAg said:This is Exhibit A on how to not win people over to your side.chickenfingers said:

You judge someone entirely based on their appearance, and not based on their thoughts, ideas, or content of their character. That is not a great way to win people over.
Assuming he writes his own lyrics, he must be very bright. The wit to write his songs is a true talent.e=mc2 said:

I'm a child of the 60's, a rocker of the 70's, dislike RAP, but love this mans message and would attend one of his concerts.chickenfingers said:

Until this thread, I had never heard of the guy. Know nothing about him, or his politics. More influential? Not buying that. I would bet if I asked the next 1,000 people I see about this guy, very few would have heard of him and doubt any of those who have heard of him have been influenced by him.Baseball Is Life said:Tom is more influential than most politician's, pundits, etc. You can choose not to listen to him, but younger people put a lot of value into what musicians have to say. [Verse 1]
I am not republican, I am not a liberal
Why the hell can't I just be American without getting political?
The system gon' suppress us all, they don't care about the cost
How's this a democracy when we got communists in charge?
Cancel culture, Nazis, all they're missing is the swastikas
Honestly, this is a psychological holocaust
Pumpin' propaganda through the screen and straight into your brain
You ain't on a plantation, but you definitely still a slave
Race theory is indoctrinating children
Tell blacks they're disadvantaged, tell whites they got white privilege
What a brilliant way to reinforce division
If whites believe they have it easy they will never help you fight the system
And now they burnin' books in untraditional ways
They just traded newspapers for the digital age
Now the facts can be deleted with no physical flames
They just change the information and the truth gets erased
[Chorus]
They keep screamin' to wake up, but they're all woke, not awake
We know the system has failed us, and all the media's fake
I swear the government hates us, having opinions is dangerous
The system built to enslave us only works if we're afraid
[Verse 2]
I am not republican, I am not a liberal
Progressive and traditional are hitmen hired to kill the individual
They label people red or blue, divide us, they don't ever help
They want you thinkin' left or right so you ain't thinkin' for yourself
Go ahead and vote 'cause both the parties are the same side
Two teams, one coach, controlled by the same guys
Left-wing, right-wing, both help the same bird fly
Brainwashing everybody at the same time
The internet was once a place that we could get our facts from
Now it's been monopolized, it's Google or it's Amazon
Who fact-checking the fact-checkers, I can answer that one
The people who control the narratives through the platforms
Let me break this down for you simple as I can, 'kay
They use social conditioning to put you in the rat race
It doesn't matter if you're first or third, or if you're last place
You're still a rat, and they're the cats who kill you so you can't escape

More rationalizing and equivocation: Progressives and Conservatives are NOT the same.
His generation thinks if they make them equal they are safe to rebel while actually accomplishing nothing. 90% of that message was correct but the 10% that is unable to see who is controlling 90% of the government and the narrative means he might as well be spitting into the wind.
There is good and there is evil.
If you don't believe that then only God can help you, because you are incapable of rational thought.
If you believe the axiom above but think the progressives are the good guys you are either an illiterate, or a fool.
I am ecstatic his style is rap. It is not something I listen to,but there is a definitely a segment of our society that does listen to rap and they need to hear this message as well.Tea Party said:Listen to the message and look past the image.chickenfingers said:

Though I haven't listened to this one yet but he has a lot of good messages in his songs other than the Covid song, though I wish his style wasn't rap. He pushes back against the woke but also doesn't pull punches against the establishment on the right either.
While I agree with the premise of your post, Tom is worth millions and millions, so I doubt he will be out trying to get an hourly job and having to worry about his tattoos. Jelly Roll the same.TRADUCTOR said:
