The whole world, outside of the true believers, already knew that he was senile and he cant remember **** about Beau several years ago.

No. It wasn't intended BUT the Democrats are extremely experienced with propaganda and spin and they know almost instinctively as a group (including their media allies) how to exploit and frame and spin any emerging event to distract from the most recent failure or error or bad news. They are opportunistic to the extreme, and being the party of the press, they have the resources to redirect much of the public narrative to the latest thing and then away from it to the next distraction.

Planned or not, it was an epic disaster for Biden. He looked unpresidential, unhinged at times, and totally unfit for the job.

Either his staff panicked after reading the DOJ report and thought they needed to reassure the masses, or someone is setting him up to take him out.

If it was the former, it was a total failure. If it was the latter, it was a staggering success.

I think it will be Newsome. Everyone is sick of old presidents and they'll win because it will be young guy against another old fart.

the powers that be are or were petrified of the tucker and putin interview. they tried to get out in front of it, multiple interviews with democrats bashing tucker before it aired by hillary clinton and others. this was a narrative they were not in control of and that caused panic.

they then rolled biden out knowing this would be the result. and it worked. i have seen more articles written today and more discussion on biden than the tucker putin interview.

at the end of the day this was allowed to happen to change the topic and take back control of the narrative. if americans actually woke up to what ukraine is really about there would be a much greater uproar.

big picture not sure if this is to get rid of biden which most will think or just to change the narrative. ultimately we saw nothing from biden we didn't already know, he is a dementia riddled fool.

All Biden had to do was keep it together for a few minutes and speak coherently and he had multiple memory lapses while claiming he was fine. They will try of course but this one will be hard to gaslight because they made a big deal and had the PC.

Of course this also gave Trump an opening because it shows Biden's DOJ knows he committed a crime and are just not going to prosecute him while they are going full bore after Trump. i agree it would be a good idea to challenge biden to a debate and Trump should predicate it on not only to discuss positions on matters but also state up front it will be to provide insight into biden's mental capacity.

What other real choice do they have? Dems do not have a deep bench, not one that isn't also older, at least.

The actual political consulting class is fairly small. If there was any type of effort for Michelle to run, somebody would be hired and that would be known among that group. Ditto for most anyone else, right now.

Manchin is too old as well. Newsom is a lightweight with a horrible record in California. Whitmer brings nothing to the table either.

If Prizker (age 59) was going to helicopter in, there would be some exploratory meetings happening with the donor class.

There is a school of thought that anyone with less baggage than Biden could beat Trump, so there will be folks who are interested in pursuing that, but the means to do it are limited.

I don't see a 25th amendment coup working. Even if Kamala got up the courage to initiate it, the cabinet is composed of a bunch of lackeys who are unlikely to agree with pushing Biden out, some due to loyalty, others due to fear that Kamala might fare even worse than Biden.

1968. Humphrey didn't start campaigning until late March that year after LBJ dropped out. At the convention, Humphrey had considerably fewer delegates (Get Clean for Gene had many more).

Yet, he received the nomination.

My prediction is that those delegates that Biden believes are in his back pocket already will not be when the convention rolls around. Will there be a consensus alternate candidate at that point, is the question.
