I am not sure why there is no acknowledgment of who they are, that the family's are being supported and to let the families know the America does not leave anyone behind……….oh wait…….never mind.

Yep. You're not allowed to ask about it though.

There were 3 dual citizens at one point but I don't know if any are still held.

It's not even clear if there are any sentient American citizens working in/about the White House at this point.

American citizens or Israeli citizens who never gave up their American citizenship?

I suspect mostly the latter, therefore not our problem

So a certain class of American doesn't deserve to be considered American?

I am trying to find a hard accounting of the Americans if they are still being held. You read the White House write up it works really hard to not acknowledging/ acknowledging them.

If I was a dual citizen, I would not be counting on Biden to save me

In fact, if I get taken hostage by Islamic terrorists I might pull a Madonna-level conversion in the hopes that those Hebrews at least make an effort.

Should a certain class of Israeli be considered American?

You're treading dangerously close to a personal attack, BTW.

Most ex-pat Americans living in Israel are dual citizens. Perhaps it is time to close that loop hole.

Your implication that i don't like Jews.

What I don"t like is dual citizenship past 21st birthday. When you turn 21, pick a country and be loyal to it. If you emigrate, apply for citizenship there.

My point is that most, if not all, of these 'American' hostsges are dual citizen or permanent Israeli resodents, thus the problem of the government they have chosen to live under. They are not the problem of country they left.

6 American citizens still held

Tony Blinken did mention this but goes with the "USA is doing everything possible to get them back" other than of course actually hitting Hamas.

Well you jump the gun on that one. I didn't have a culture, a race, male or female, religious attachment or non believer to my question in response to your insinuation that if you were a dual citizens some how that would justify a reduced consideration of being an American citizen and the protections that should be afforded to that citizen who may be caught in trouble.

I am sincerely interested to hear how you get there?

Dual citizenship has been recognized for a long time as legitimate. As long as the person met conditions for American citizenship and did nothing to renounce it or meet the very specific conditions required to forfeit it, then they remain citizens. If the other nation of citizenship doesn't impose obligations that would contradict the requirements of American citizenship, then they remain American citizens.

That is how I understood it.
