All airlines are trash. All you can do is choose your hubs for direct or spend all day with layovers.

The other day I flew southwest - why? Because it was the one that got me to the destination the quickest. It was the same price as American (roughly).

Instead of using the metal cart to give peanuts, the homeboy simply pulled snacks out of a black trash bag.

All the points systems suck too. You basically have to spend your life with X or Y company to get something decent.

This new age blows

Pretty simple. Dont fly a US carrier on intl flights. I use Korean Air, EVA and Emirates.

No. You don't acquire enough status doing that. Global Services & the equivalents make up for a lot of the bad with US carriers and route selection is limited with intl. You still have to book through a US carrier of you want status that means anything, so you have to pick 1.

Last thing I care about is the persons race when flying. I just want them to be competent. Hiring based on race or gender for a role that could kill hundreds of people if they are incompetent is stupid and should result in firing.

if the choice exists fly one of the Emirates Airlines.

Air France is not bad.
I have flown El Al so many times and it's the safest but not comfortable unless you are a religious person.
Never fly Turkish Airlines

Lufthansa not bad, and British Airways not bad.

Correct answer, and as a 5 year Continental employee at the time of the takeover/merger, I saw it all first hand. Spending time at the United HQ in Chicago was a real indicator as to how this was going to go. Union mentality, corporate culture, etc. They took all the Continental technology and kept all the United management. I resigned immediately after I took care of my part of the merger (though they did drag me back for a 3 year contract stint w/ United). I would have retired w/ Continental, that was a GREAT place to work, but United f'ed that up badly. I feel bad for my friends that are still stuck there.

Uggh. I work in Houston and travel a lot. A frequent flyer with United. Another airline just wouldn't work for me.

Cognitive dissonance I suppose. In this case, I value my personal time and efficiency more than protesting against woke-ism. And I hate woke.

As has been mentioned, you really have to pick one and stick with it if your job requires significant travel.

Fortunately, a couple of decades ago I chose Continental. Great airline.

Unfortunately, I ended up with United. Garbage airline.
