This seems pretty clear to me how Trump felt. This is also the level of pressure Trump was putting on DeSantis and other Governors to shut down. DeSantis was a Trump ally and Trump was making it very clear that he would be defying him if he didn't shut down and we all know how well Trump handles defiance like that.
It is very clear. Trump didn't shut down any state. You can take out of context tweets all you want. Trump did NOT shut down any states. Governors did that.

You're reposting tweets I posted hours ago, though I posted the live tweet and not a screenshot. Do you have a point or is it just bash the next POTUS at all costs?
Trump does a great job of that all by himself.
No no, pointing out that Trump is easily contradicted by his plethora of public statements by posting those exact statements is "bashing the next POTUS". The truth, apparently, bashes Trump, and we can't face truth if it doesn't fall in line with him.

But don't call it a cult.

Trump never had the authority to in spite of his bluster. He pressured Kemp and DeSantis HARD to keep them shutdown but they opened anyway. Why? The President simply doesn't have that authority.

It's amazing you can't see that but I guess when the lens is that "Trump always did the right thing and only was stopped because everyone is out to get him" it all makes sense.

I really wonder if some of you just slept through Covid or maybe it was so traumatic you can't remember how things happened.

I do see that Trump recommended to certain states to keep their states closed a bit longer than they wanted. He also recommended other states to open quicker than they wanted to. He also recommended folks consult with their doctors about the COVID shot. Of course, he didn't mandate that either.

And, Biden certainly would have found the "authority" so saying the POTUS didn't have the authority is just wrong. Trump had the authority and didn't use it.

Fact is this narrative of REEEEEEE TRUMP COVID!!! SHUTDOWNS!!! RESTRICTIONS!! is silly.

Really? When I went to Florida and living in Texas we were open and Biden sure as hell wasn't happy about it. So Trump DID had the authority and DID NOT use it but somehow Biden DID NOT have the authority but if he DID he would use it? That's fascinating.

how many times does a poster have to be completely schooled by being corrected with facts before they realize they don't know what they are talking about?

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States, by the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including sections 201 and 301 of the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)

Interesting. So is Trump saying if he wins that is "Retribution" enough? I find it interesting because you have a Trump supporter who thinks this is his best answer and then Pool seemingly disappointed and set up for another "Lock her up" shift. It's really vague as well so does that mean he fires Wray Day 1 or not for instance? He has never said he would to my knowledge and he has been mixed on Wray.

Since it doesn't look like we will ever have a debate and force him to answer anything I guess it will be like a Nancy Pelosi Bill where you find out what's in it after you vote for it.

Its classic Trump is what it is. Allowing and encouraging his followers to believe one thing, but he gives himself just enough leeway to escape accountability if he doesn't accomplish what they're believing in.

In this case its "retribution". He has absolutely 1000% been running on retribution. But with this one line in the town hall, he can say in the future "Hey folks, I told you it was never about retribution. Holding all of the deep state accountible and cleaning out the swamp? Nope, I told you that's not my goal. Don't have time for that."

The man has definitely learned the art of saying 10 different things to cover all his bases.

The key talent he has is people WANT him to be that guy so badly. They just love him because of his X factor. So they will gladly just accept that if he doesn't do what he said he would it was because he tried but it was impossible because "They are coming after you, I'm just in the way!"

I don't mean that to be insulting, it's just he has a hold on people like few pols ever do. Obama had the same skill with the Dems, speaking against him to many is pure blasphemy. To be fair Reagan was the same in the GOP for a long time as was FDR and Kennedy for the Dems.

The latest MAGA talking point is that Trump won the debate, despite not being there, because of course they have a poll which says so.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

It's juvenile but befitting of Trump and all of his supporters who are laughing in the video and posting it here like a 10 year old who just told a fart joke.

That's Trump. That's his base. That's what they think of this country and how they want to treat it. This is all a joke to them. They are not a serious group and the sooner Trump "leaves" and his group dissipates like a fart in the wind the better.
