Noooooooooooooo
Don't do that. I have a daughter in High School.
My son with stellar grades could not get into Stanford because of DEI and other crap. Now the shoe is on the other foot and I have a daughter (with not so stellar grades) so I hope they don't go the other way and make it harder for girls.
After my daughter gets in, do whatever the hell you want.
I know a girl with stellar grades, academics, and extra curriculars, who visited Stanford, and came away with the distinct impression --- if you haven't sufferred in life, don't bother applying.
She got into a different Ivy League school for CompSci
Yes, that is what I heard too.
However! My first cousin, with whom I grew up with (down the street), went to school at UT Arlington for Masters degree. He has lived in the Bay Area for 20+ years. His daughter got into Stanford and is almost completing her Bachelors. She is on a pre-med track and seems to be quite smart.
My cousin is brown like I am, financially well off like I am. He has not suffered in life either (both upper middle class). Only difference is his kid is a girl and mine is a boy. One can quibble that his kid is x% smarter than mine, may or may not be so. But historically my cousin has always been the lucky one in the family. He always won luck based games like Snakes & Ladders, and Monopoly. I wonder if his famed luck worked in his favor here too?
Also, a year before my son, one white boy in a neighboring town got into Stanford. He was teaching Math to my daughter's friend at a training center, that is how I found out. He also had a video on Youtube about how he found out he got in. He was deferred at first, and then got in. I looked at his profile, he doesn't seem to be a genius, not has he suffered. Around middle class in a middling school. However, from his social media, I saw he was diagnosed with cancer the week he was going to leave to Stanford, but seems to be fine now.
