What is a covid emergency?
Did the employer update the employee handbook and health standards to include mandatory mask usage?

Does a "Covid emergency" mean you can go back to working from home, or is it not that much of an "emergency"? Tape on the floor indicating you can walk only one way so you will not get sick?

Every person I've talked to who's gotten COVID or the flu this season has said COVID was a head cold and the flu was worse than normal.

COVID has turned into another in the family of common colds at this point.

How does a state law impact a federal building like the bush library?

Does a local federal office policy Trump state law?

I have no issue with those who voluntarily wear a mask. I think it is up to the individual not the institution. Having said that COVID is going around TAMU this winter. It is a mild form (24 hours and through) and even those who had their boosters are getting sick.

This may be a silly question, but who is even testing for covid? What's the point unless you're looking for an excuse to WFH?

I work at the Bush Library, and I came back from my Christmas break to be informed that due to a "COVID emergency", we once again have to wear face diapers whilst in the Bush Library.

It's apparently a federal thing, or at least a NARA thing, because it doesn't apply to the Bush Museum. Which is in the same building.

They also aren't required to keep him employed. I'm all for standing up for ones principles...But there isn't going to be an audience standing outside applauding when we do. The repercussions only fall on one person, so there should be no surprises or regrets.

I was once told I had to wear socks with my boat shoes at work...and there wasn't any official dress code/regulation. But seeing that I had a family to support....I decided standing on my principle for socks didn't trump my responsibility to my family.

Now, if I was young and single and the job was just a stepping stone...I may have told them to shove it because no one is going to tell me when I have to where socks

That's just like the flu has been every other year for decades. People need to quit worrying about Covid.
