And DC is also a locally controlled city... the president intends to make the FBI the local police force?

I will have to look as it's been a couple of months since I heard the estimates... but the land and building costs were truly astronomical. Especially - IMHO - compared to spreading them out, making many retire rather than relocate, etc.

We shouldn't be spending money on new headquarters unless we are at the point that it is less expensive to move them to a new headquarters than to keep them where they are. You can bet that moving them to a new building would cost far more than keeping them in their current building.

The point is that we are spending far too much money. Until such time as the deficit is eliminated and the debt payed far down (preferably until it is paid off), we shouldn't be spending money on more luxuries.

The FBI needs to be abolished as an enemy of the republic.
