I am old enough to remember that Kissinger would be seen on the news, but without audio. Never heard him speak because of his heavy German accent. He was like the old adage about children, seen but not heard.

I am looking forward to a good F16 discussion on Kissinger. Definitely a lot of strong opinions about that guy.

Say what you will but a truly interesting and complicated man. Just an incredible life story.

Henry Kissinger is one of those historical figures who we could write volumes about, from both the good and bad point of view.

Regardless of one's opinion of him, he helped shape American history during his time in office, and for sometime after. History will be the ultimate judge as to whether his actions were for the better or worse of the country.

Do you apply this standard to all influential political figures?

Do you?
If you say you hate the state of politics in this nation and you don't get involved in it, you obviously don't hate the state of politics in this nation.

Good riddance to that vile scumbag, he lived way too long. He was no statesman, he was a bloody warmonger that referred to US soldiers as "dumb, stupid animals to be used". Shame that he lived so long.

I've never heard that before. Are you positive about that quote?

The first thing I thought of was this Monty Python song.

Woodward and Bernstein claimed he made that comment in front of or regarding Al Haig. Consider the source when making your judgment if it is a valid claim.

Wasn't Kissinger a big influence to Klaus Schwab? That alone is a huge net negative for all society.

One would think the military would not be taking orders from the state department. One might also think it was smart to attempt to kill the enemy where he hides.
