Pretty sure Rumble was saying they might have a similar lawsuit brewing. I wonder if Media Matters was dumb enough to reach out directly to advertisers. That'd be monumentally stupid and unnecessary as it would be the link from a tenuous case to tortious interference PDQ.
Media Matters fed MSM talking points and MSM folks pressure Apple, IBM and the like.

MTP had a whole panel excoriating Musk yesterday morning.

If I recall, he is being completely mischaracterized regarding the tweet he replied to, no?

And this is such an apparent attempt to bring Twitter back under their control is laughable, sad, dangerous and... unconstitutional.

Hope he crushes Media Matters. Or buys them and simply shuts them down.

It won't matter. They will just close MM and form a new .org to "shine light on democrazy." Honestly, they are likely funded heavily from people like soros or even the CCP, so it is just a shell game.

I'm kind of shocked the other side hasn't done the same against the likes of facebook and google.

Looking at this morning's CBS broadcast, Musk might have a case against CBS. They were stating as fact that Musk acted in an anti Semitic way - basically using the dropping of X by the corporations as proof.

So Media Matters has manipulated the algorithm to create a narrative, and the left - including the MSM - is going all in without checking the story. That's straight up slander and tortuous interference.

They're playing with fire here, and this time might just get burned.

CBS did this as well this morning. They showed a tweet unrelated to the tweet that Musk said 'Exactly' to that was anti Semitic and misrepresented that Musk was replying to the Anti Semitic tweet.

That's already been shown yesterday to be false, and CBS is still running with it.

Unsurprisingly, so is the White House.

Maybe he'll get damages from MM in the form of penalties for all the advertisers they've scared away.
This isn't really about money to him, imho. It's a defense of his whole X business franchise/goals: yes, IBM was one of the woke companies that pulled out asap with the libel reporting/lies:

Keep in mind, Sohmer was just charged with child porn too. Yes, this is Podesta's buddy who 'debunked' Pizza-gate. The attack on twitter/Elon is just battlefield preparation for the election year to the leftists/communists/pedophiles known as 'democrats.'

What is sad is that Media Matters is not smart enough to know that Twitter will be able to provide definitive proof of the gaming based on user records, and that Musk is autistic enough to bury them with a mountain of very specific, very damning data.

Not only will he show how much that Media Matters manipulated the system, he will probably also show that the manipulated results is something like six sigma away from the average user.

Also, since Musk is the one filing the lawsuit, the venue is likely to be away from the corrupt political machine that has been put into place in the judiciary by the left. I would be shocked if Musk is unable to get this in front of a jury that isn't totally infected by the woke mind virus.

Finally, quantifying damages in this case will be pretty easy, and the number is going to be large enough to bankrupt Media Matters. It will just get reformed under another name, but these guys are about to get buried.

Is Media Matters finally about to face some real, tangible pushback for its decades of smear-merchanting? According to Elon Musk, the answer is yes, and it's going to happen very soon.

The billionaire announced on Friday that the moment the courts open on Monday, Media Matters will face a lawsuit over a recent "study" it performed and published involving advertising on X. In it, the far-left organization claimed proof.

The shorter version of the above document is that Media Matters set out to "prove" that X places advertertisements on supposedly hateful conduct. The implication being that advertisers are then endorsing whatever content their ads end up adjacent to. Thus, they should not run ads on X lest they be associated negatively.

It's a game as old as time for the left. Targeting advertisers in order to quash free speech has been going on since the beginning of the information age and has only accelerated in the last decade or so. Everyone from Rush Limbaugh to Tucker Carlson has faced the onslaught over the years. Unfortunately, the tactic has often worked, a result that has only emboldened organizations like Media Matters to keep up the attacks.

In this case, Musk's allegation is that Media Matters purposedly and maliciously gamed the system in order to manufacture the results of its "study" with the goal of scaring advertisers off under false pretenses. More specifically, Media Matters allegedly created an account and curated the accounts it follows and what advertisements it sees, likely by blocking most advertisers in order to increase the probability of garnering a set of specific companies they wanted to target. They then refreshed the account's timeline over and over until they got the screenshots they wanted for their narrative.

If that's what happened, there might be a real path to legal victory for the billionaire. Certainly, most conservatives will be cheering him on. Media Matters is an awful, deceptive organization that routinely takes right-leaning news sources out of context in order to present their comments in a false light. The goal, as always, is to then destroy those news outlets (or often podcasters) by attacking their ability to generate revenue. It's insidious and flies in the face of American ideals.

Based on the lawsuit, Media Matters will dwarf any claim Dominion has made about defamation.

Also, Apple, IBM and the like look like chumps for pulling their ads. They need the Disney / Bud Light treatment.

I have not seen where criminal charges are coming. What are you referring to?

(Texas Attorney General has very limited criminal prosecution authority. This case is not one of them. Paxton is looking at a consumer protection civil case)
