I have been studying Christian apologetics the last six years. I now teach a class at my church to young adults introducing them to the various arguments for and against the existence of God. These past few years have taught me that the vast majority of atheists have invested very little thought and research into such an important question. This is a perfect example.

She is about 52 minutes into her 15 alloted. Smoking or Non-Smoking. He/She should hobble off into the pitch mist and just go away.

I'm by no means a religious scholar but in my opinion belief in God runs counter to pretty much the entire Democrat platform. My elementary understanding of God's expectation for us is that we live a life of accountability where we do the right thing even when it's hard. What in the Democrat message amounts to personal responsibility or doing the right thing?

Amen to that. I as well have found many atheists to have a 5 year olds understanding of God's existence. It seems they have maintained a Santa Claus view of God as white guy in the sky with a big white beard that gives you all the things you ask for. If you fail to develop a proper and mature understanding of the mystical world, it will no longer make sense compared to your intellectual understanding of the physical world as it develops. The mystical world then becomes easy to abandon. However, as likely the case with Rapinoe, you have someone who lacks the intellectual acumen to advance developmentally beyond a 5 year old and as such, is still having temper tantrums as an adult.

Not quite. She thinks she's The Standard. Which is a psychological difference without a theological distinction.

She knows she isn't omnipotent or all powerful, but that doesn't stop her from acting as if she's the main character in the story and that her assessment of circumstances is cannon.

Theologically the standard comes from (and is) God, but atheists know that the my aren't God - they just have the hubris to pick up the mantle when declaring right and wrong.

The Democratic Party is fundamentally incompatible with Christianity.

Had this come up the other week. A very intelligent guy when talking about the Hamas/Israel conflict said "if there's anything that would make you want to be an atheist it's seeing people slaughter each other for religion"

I just had to laugh. Why would a lunatic terrorist attack in the name of a religion I don't follow have any sway on beliefs about the fundamental nature of reality? It's like watching a nuclear bomb get dropped on Japan and saying "man if there's anything that would make you want to deny the existence of physics, it's this".

A lot of atheists aren't really atheist, they just can't handle the problem of evil. They spend a lot of time blaming things on an entity they claim doesn't exist

She doesn't have much of an understanding about anything. She's fortunate she's good enough to be a trained monkey to entertain the masses.

If I didn't believe in God, and just believed in logic, her statement would still make me cringe both logically and grammatically:

"if there was a god, like, this is proof that there isn't"

The contradiction in that statement is like fingernails on a chalkboard. Everyone of my old english and logic teachers are rolling over in their graves with that butchering of language. What she should have said is, "If I had believed in God, I no longer do because this injury is proof there isn't one." (or something along those lines).

Caveat: I most certainly do believe in the Triune God, that I'm a sinner, and my only source for salvation is that Jesus died for my sins and defeated death once and for all with his death and resurrection. I do not believe that God promises us a happy life in this age, but only in the age to come/
