MrBeast does a lot of legit work for those in need. I like at the end of the videos he usually points out that these are not difficult ideas and since no one else is willing to do them he will.

Go watch podcasts interviewing him about his businesses. He is a driven and intelligent entrepreneur with big dreams.

ETA I do agree with her comments on the infrastructure to support these wells though. With the ability and funds to maintain them, they're bandaids that will eventually fall off.

Agreed. I have a hard time letting my kids watch some of his other content. But they have quietly phased them out of most of the videos.

I met this dude when I lived in Eastern North Carolina. He's a bit quirky but an overall solid dude.

Who's going to tell her that she's used her "cause" to put food on her own table while making only minor incremental progress? That is almost a complete explanation of her resentment even without the hatred of white males.

Mr Beaat demonstrated the strategic impact of focused resources and a vision. The people who make a careers out of "slow motion saviorship" just hate when someone exposes them for their ineffectual and inefficient approach.

Lots gets spent on infrastructure in severely impoverished areas with no hope of ever being operated or maintained. Where are they going to go for spare parts when something breaks? The local grainger?

I applaud the effort, and hope it helps people. But 5 years from now I worry what still operates.

But Africa is dependent on handouts, it has been more entire life and that's not gonna change. In fact I'd wager it gets significantly worse in the coming decade.

I hear you but its not that simple. Western aid often runs local farmers out of business which leads to more western aid and unintended consequences.

I couldn't find the pc but recall how when a US shoe company ran a promotion where every time they sold a pair of shoes here, they donated a pair of shoes in Africa. Which had the effect of destroying at least one shoe factory in Africa.

I also recall from that same article that Africa was actually self sustaining up to the late 70s or early 80s for clothing production. That is until so many charities started shipping clothes to Africa and destroyed the factories there.
