GAZA. Open air prison?

I have heard this said a number of times. So out of curiosity, I opened up a current satellite map of GAZA.

I am not making an argument that living life in GAZA is great…..but looking on a satellite map,,,,,they do have open spaces. Along the beach front, the farm/agricultural land area and other open areas throughout GAZA.

When I hear "it is an open air prison" I envision closed in walls. No where to go, no infrastructure, no roads. This is clearly not the case. Israel should be able to say to the GAZA folks…….please go away from the W, X Y, & Z area. For those folks. The Red Cross and other world nations should be able to build tent city's and deliver food to GAZA folks who are having their area swept by Israeli Forces. When that area has been swept and secured another area is designated for a sweep looking for Hamas.

If the Palestinians were stuck in place, there does appear options that would allow some of the population to temporarily relocate, be protected and receive car. It doesn't appear that life in GAZA is so constrained that folks are stuck in place, just helpless and require assistance to move. Hell they live there for Pete's sakes.

As for Israel the have other options others then complete artillery barrage and turning to Gaza to stone. So this humanitarian crises looks like it is being overblown.

Vacate area and tell us where Hamas is…..we will get them and get you back home in a hurry.

We will help rebuild water pipelines that Hamas dug up and used to build missiles…..once you tell us where a few Hamas folks are.

We will bring in food…..once you point to where Hamas is hiding.

If the majority of Palestinians do not approve and support Hamas then Hamas will be ratted out. My guess is the Palestinian people will continue to undeniably support Hamas……and if that is the case then do one of the following:

Turn Gaza into glass or bomb it to rubble. Take the rubble and dump it in the Mediterranean Sea to use as a base for the future Island of Gaza. Let a new, modern city build by donations from every country in the world. The Palestinian will finally have their state.

The land that was once Gaza will be property of an Israel.

Were the Palestinians in Gaza never allowed to visit or move to the West Bank with the other Palestinians? Seems like plenty of land for them there.

I'm fine with them turning it into an open air parking lot. **** Hamas.

Call it what you want, I don't think it was a pleasant place to live even before two weeks ago.

That was complicated. Why import terrorists from Gaza to the West Bank?

Bottom line is this. Gaza was given over 15 years to learn how to self govern without terrorists heading their quasi government. They couldn't do it.

Isreal and Egypt have blockaded all goods to and from Gaza, even from the Mediterranean side since 2005. They allow the bare minimum aid in there for living and food, but that's it. They did this to eliminate weapons for them to use to attack Israel. That's why they made rockets out of water pipes. It's this blockade of anything coming into isreal except humanitarian aid, is yhe reason they liken it to an open air prison. I'm as pro isreal as about anyone on this board, but the description is reasonably accurate. But what else would you have isreal do to stop Gaza from killing Israelis?

It's only a prison in the sense they're kept out of Israel, and for good reason. So sick of hearing this bull**** about the poor palestinians who have been engaged in terrorism for 50 years and have never one moved away from the position of, "Everything should be ours, and **** the Jews." The reason they're in gaza and the West Bank is because of they're allowed anywhere else they'll go on murder sprees like the savage animals they are.

They never wanted peace. They don't want peace. They will never want peace. They get whatever they get, and they and their liberal sycophants can all **** off.

Israel is doing just that. Hamas is telling their citizens to stay put and remain targets for propaganda purposes.

Interesting that Israel doesn't treat the Palestinians in the West Bank the same as the ones in Gaza. Could there possibly be a difference in the way the two areas are governed and act towards Israel?

Not just Israel. No other country permits them to travel in unless they have direct access to world wide funds wrongly given to them.

West Bank is much more moderate, but still can't be trusted.

True, but Israel is much more lenient towards the West Bank. Heck, Israel allows travel for Arabs between the two countries in a number of cases - issuing work permits for instance.

That's because the Palestinians in the WB don't try (as hard) to attack Israel...yeah, I'm sure there have been some incidents, but nothing like from Gaza. Even Egypts won't then the Gazans enter due to security concerns.

They voted for this exact type of existence when they voted for hamas in 2007. They knew this was how it would be when theyvoted, so F'em. No sympathy.

I have a ton of sympathy for innocent people of Palestine, but the people have to either rise up against their own terroristic government or leave.

IMHO, Israel should take back the territory and level it to the ground and the former residents will have to find somewhere else to reside. Anyone upset should be angry at the government who was more concerned about shooting bombs and terrorizing than building a safe and responsible society.

I'm going out on a limb here, but what if they were to try to be good neighbors and an ally to Israel instead of an enemy. If bet they would be in a much better situation.

The black line here is the border with Egypt.

I've never been to prison, but I assume most prisons don't have 136 mile gaping hole in the fence.

Egypt blockaded most traffic because Hamas used tunnels/trade to infiltrate and lead terrorist attacks on Egypt including tourist spots, AFTER backing the muslim brotherhood revolution (along with Obama) years earlier.

The "Palestinian Authority" is actually just as vile in their hatred (and "education") of youth as Hamas:

I find it very odd that i cannot recall hearing the term, "open air prison," ever…and then all of a sudden it is being stated like it's been handed down generation by generation. It's almost like it is being forced upon us.

I'm no Palestinian sympathizer but as I thought more on this since it become a talking point weeks ago, I wonder if this is really true. Just comparing it to our own country's inability to have a fair election. If Hamas wanted to win an election, I'm sure they'd have no issue making the votes work in their favor. All speculation here but maybe not taking the narrative of "Hamas was elected" at its full face value.

It's Arab propaganda.

TOKYO has a denser population than the Gaza Strip.

There are more people in New York City than in the entire Gaza Strip- which is 178 square miles.

and whose fault is that?!!

literally billions snd billions of dollars from the UN and the international community over the last 50 years and where did all that go to?

here's a guess: Hamas stole it for their mansions and their missile programs and their attack tunnels.

There's literally an army on the other side of the fence that would love nothing more than to erase every last vestige of hamas from the face of the earth. If they don't want hamas, getting rid of them takes just a little bit of cooperation with the IDF. They hate the Jews, and they're just fine with everything hamas does. They blame Israel for fighting back and simply existing in the first place.

**** 'em.
