Biden sued Texas for placing buoys in the river and Arizona for using containers as a fence, yet your ire is directed at 75 million spent sending the immigrants beyond our border? That's quite a take

WAAAAAY cheaper than leaving them in-state to soak up all the social welfare dollars. And reduction in crime. And less burden on our school systems. I fail to see what the problem is. Send the bill the the Federal Government when the operation is over since we are doing their job for them.THE_CHOSEN_ONE said:

Have you not seen how many illegals are crossing the border every day? There are literally 100s of thousands coming across the border every year. 50,000 is a drop in the bucket.JJxvi said:
$75 million divided by $1400 means this company has bussed out over 50,000 people in a year. That's insane.

Wait, so now dems are fiscally conservative?
I'm not a dem, I just don't like seeing our government take our money and use it to spend on 75 million dollars worth of bus tickets at $1,400 a pop. This is something anyone who is fiscally conservative should be upset about.
Abbott is just stealing money from us and giving it to his buddies.
I'd bet everything I have that this is the ONLY reason FJB & Co are taking ANY action regarding the border. This single action(although expensive) might finally put at least a little damper on the cluster we currently have.GeorgiAg said:
It's expensive, but I think Dems are finally realizing the scope of the problem. Biden going forward with the wall is proof of this.

Except that I wouldn't be looking at whatever margin they are getting as profit. I would be putting at least half if not more than that into a legal defense fund for when the marxists turn their lawfare tactics against the bus company. You know this is going to happen. When they can't stop something the legitimate way, they use the courts to drive companies out of business with endless lawsuits.mwp02ag said:
As a business owner there is no way I'm taking that contract without a sweet sweet profit margin. WAYYYYY to much liability.
Then you would lose that bet.Jack Squat 83 said:I'd bet everything I have that this is the ONLY reason FJB & Co are taking ANY action regarding the border. This single action(although expensive) might finally put at least a little damper on the cluster we currently have.GeorgiAg said:

Exactly. Deadhead miles need to be taken into the equation. I'm not sure if bus drivers are under the same DOT requirements truck drivers are, but at a minimum, it's a 2 day trip from Texas to Chicago or NY. So, you're occupying that bus for at least 4 days (5 if driver stays a night after dropping off), fuel, maintenance, hotel, food, etc. When you look at the whole picture, you see the whole cost.CDUB98 said:
Well, somebody has to be paid to do it.
Now if you want to argue cost, well, yeah, that's way too much per head, but also remember, the state is paying for an empty return trip. Still toouch per head though.
You might be right, but I think the $1400 pays for meals and handling -Sea Speed said:CDUB98 said:

The cheapest greyhound this month i saw from el paso to NYC is $200 so I know that it can be done cheaper. Obviously greyhound will be significantly cheaper to operate than a smaller bus company, but I would be blown away if they couldn't get it done for half the cost with the company still making a tidy profit.

Bussing illegals is ***absolutely the only thing moving the needle on the immigration discussion nationally***, therefore I consider it money well spent.THE_CHOSEN_ONE said:
