Crude oil prices today: Biden discourages Israel from hitting Iran's oil (cnbc.com)
Quote:

U.S. crude oil spiked about 5% on Thursday after President Joe Biden indicated the White House was discussing an Israeli strike on Iran's oil industry. Biden clarified those comments on Friday, discouraging Israel from targeting oil fields.

"The Israelis have not concluded what they're going to do in terms of a strike that's under discussion," Biden told reporters at a White House press briefing. "If I were in their shoes, I'd be thinking about other alternatives than striking oil fields."
If I were Bibi, then I'd level that island and their refineries.

It sounds like, thankfully, the Israeli's are still not briefing in the US State Department (enemies) as to operations/plans:

Imo, Israel better quickly level some things in Iran while they have international support. The longer they wait, the more support they'll lose and any action will paint them as the aggressors in the press. People have the attention span of a gnat and won't even remember that Iran launched 181 missiles first. If they don't strike tonight or tomorrow, then watch how the world of idiots blame them.

Note this is only one report, others call a "security incident." No media other than this one reporting anything as "major."

Apparently he was hiding out in a refugee camp in Tripoli. Not even in the fight in Gaza. Coward.

First Israeli strike in Tripoli.

Nice to see: the IDF needs to maintain pressure on the Iranian logistics channels to Hamas/Hezbollah.

Hopefully this is false:

I highly doubt Turkey would approve using Ankara AFB for staging/support of strikes on Iran:

Again, IDF have their own tankers (5 I believe) and have struck Yemen via/using refueling previously.

Family friend was supposed to travel to Iran next week. 94 years old and beat cancer. The doctor was shocked about how well he took the chemo and he said because he was motivated to get back to Iran.

Flights into Iran are being cancelled from most of the international airlines. Domestic Iranian airlines are still scheduled. He postponed it until November now. So with the 1 year anniversary and international airlines cancelling their flights something is about to go down.

Why is the US organizing anything? Is Biden insane? If it's known that we organized an attack, we will be blamed for the attack.

That's just idiotic if true.

If the US is going to be expected to come to Israel's defense then the U.S. better be at the table strategizing.

If this is true and we are directly involved in attacking Iran, AND publicly letting the world know, I just don't get it. We can't be that incompetent and I don't think DEI has reached literally every level of our DOD yet has it? Something is amiss.

I guess we'll now go ahead and let them know the planned coordinates for the bombs? That would truly have Obama written all over it, being Moslem and all.
I don't think you know me.

We don't need the rest of the world pissed at us for this. And we don't need far left nuts in the US using that as a rallying cry for demonstrations and idiotic other things.

This is exactly what I was thinking. Our state department has already warned them before. I wouldn't be surprised if we leak specifics of the attack through backchannels to Iran.

How Israel Sold Hamas pagers:
See full story here:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/world/2024/10/05/israel-mossad-hezbollah-pagers-nasrallah/

" The AR924 pager was slightly bulky but rugged, built to survive battlefield conditions. It boasted a waterproof Taiwanese design and an oversized battery that could operate for months without charging. Best of all, there was no risk that the pagers could ever be tracked by Israel's intelligence services. Hezbollah's leaders were so impressed they bought 5,000 of them and began handing them out to mid-level fighters and support personnel in February.
None of the users suspected they were wearing an ingeniously crafted Israeli bomb. And even after thousands of the devices exploded in Lebanon and Syria, few appreciated the pagers' most sinister feature: a two-step de-encryption procedure that ensured most users would be holding the pager with both hands when it detonated."

" Thus was born the idea of creating a kind of communications Trojan horse, the officials said. Hezbollah was looking for hack-proof electronic networks for relaying messages, and Mossad came up with a pair of ruses that would lead the militia group to purchase devices that seemed perfect for the job equipment that Mossad designed and had assembled in Israel.
The first part of the plan, booby-trapped walkie-talkies, began being inserted into Lebanon by Mossad nearly a decade ago, in 2015. The mobile two-way radios contained oversized battery packs, a hidden explosive and a transmission system that gave Israel complete access to Hezbollah communications."

" For nine years, the Israelis contented themselves with eavesdropping on Hezbollah, the officials said, while reserving the option to turn the walkie-talkies into bombs in a future crisis. But then came a new opportunity and a glitzy new product: a small pager equipped with a powerful explosive."

Beirut getting blasted tonight. Looks like power out in the city.
AtticusMatlock
How long do you want to ignore this user?
That's not necessarily an indicator that Israel did it.

Israel has been very careful to not hit power stations and other infrastructure in Lebanon. 2/3 of Beirut does not support Hezbollah.
