There are difficult decisions coming. I agree there are no civilians in Gaza. The risk in the US by having them here is just too great. As a people they only want genocide of the Jews. Our society can not live with theirs. Past time to revoke the student visa's, round up the ones that have over stayed their tourist visa's and send them back, and stop issuing anymore.

Protect American Jews.

Israel constructs large pumps to flood Hamas terror tunnels with seawater: Wall Street Journal
Israel has constructed five large pumps that can move thousands of cubic meters of water and flood Hamas' terror tunnels within weeks, according to a report

Not set to be used, but they are.l being prepared.

Those aren't exactly "large" pumps…1000 cubic meters per hour is only 4400 GPM. Keep in mind that some oil pipeline pumps do about 20-30,000 GPM. And if you really want to get crazy, I think there's a nuke plant that has cooling water pumps at 80,000 GPM. So maybe not small, but they could do bigger if they really wanted.

Doesn't really matter, 2-3' of waternin the tunnels will make life so miserable, spread disease that it should be fairly effective to drive terrorists out as the level slowly rises.

Theoretically yes, but it's always surprising just how much vermin can tolerate. I'd rather pump em out hard and heavy.

great post there but I think the author is too optimistic on the "soft" side of victories he is discussing.

on the "Hard" aspects of military ops he is correct, but any pause is not going to win the media over to israel's side as he was discussing or really make the Palis turn on Hamas.

Hard to imagine but it is definitely a fact that Hamas had much bigger plans for October 7 than what they were able to accomplish

just having the female tank crews block them from two kibbutzim in the far south saved hundreds of people. and the fight by the outnumbered police in Sderot who were all killed (before the IAF bombed the police station) saved hundreds

it seems the plan was for Hamas to get all the way into the West Bank and to near the south of Jerusalem

War cabinet observer Deri: Hamas had far more devastating plans for October 7
By TOI STAFF

Aryeh Deri, who sits as an observer in the war cabinet, says in an interview that Hamas had plans for its October 7 onslaught that would have been far more devastating.

In an interview (Hebrew link) with the Kikar HaShabbat website published earlier today, Deri, leader of the ultra-Orthodox Shas party in the coalition, says, "We know now what we didn't know then."

He elaborates that since the start of the ground operation, "the IDF has gone into Hamas [command] posts and seized vast amounts of material. We now see, in black on white, what their plans were for Simhat Torah for many Simhat Torahs, heaven help us." (Simhat Torah is the Jewish festival that coincided this year with October 7.)

"The grand plan was completely different," he says, indicating that the terrorists had far greater and more devastating ambitions. He adds that Iran and Hezbollah are furious with Hamas's Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar, because he didn't tell them about the timing of the onslaught.

"Try to imagine what would have happened if in the north, in Judea and Samaria, if in those cities… that was their original plan," says Deri without elaborating further.

From the link -

"Next, the pause and the release of hostages created a wave of compassion for the hostages as their stories were made public. It also fueled the fire within the IDF to continue the mission. Everywhere Netanyahu has gone to visit the troops, the common call was to "Turn us loose!" and "Let us finish!" Those soldiers know why they are there. They smell victory and they want it."

What's left of Hamas is screwed. Literally dead men walking.

They could get Hamas out of the tunnels quicker if they tell Hamas the sea water they are pumping has pig doodie mixed in it … they will come out faster than lightning

Why pretend? Use the real thing and let them figure out what's making the water stink

Hopefully they are also pumping a bunch of tracers in there so they can get some good intel on the layout of the tunnel system.

5 1/2 year old Amelia returns to her "Gan" (kingergarden) and sees her friends for the first time since being held hostage in Gaza since 7 October:

this is a fantastic look into what is happening with an artillery battery of SP M-109 up on the border with Hizbullah.

on the other hand, it is depressing to see that the IDF is still using 50 year old technology.

it's not Hebrew being spoken but I can't tell if it's Arabic.

to me that seems too "good" to be a true and real video.

Why would a Hamasnik be filming water coming in and how would the IDF get that footage?

it seems like propaganda to me- but hopefully it's real.

Israeli's shot down an Iranian missile fired from Yemen. First battle in space.

Historic, but scary for the future.

It's not so much the technology itself, but rather how effective you are when using it, no?

why do you say this is the first battle in space? IDF shot down a Houthi ballistic missile in space back on 10 November nearly a month ago:

Yes it was a month ago. Just saw the reporting this month. Don't believe it was reported in Nov.

"The Arrow-2 interception happened outside the atmosphere at an altitude of approximately 60 miles, making it the first instance of space combat, The Jerusalem Post reported."

unfortunately the live cams are only showing Northern Gaza, so we can see there is still fighting in the Jabaliya sector (opposite from the Israeli town of Sderot) sounds like Helicopters and artillery

the main fighting has moved south to the Khan Yunis axis which is the last major bastion of Hamas command and control and one of the larger cities in the Gaza Strip

visits the troops again in Gaza today. he says from here in Khan Yunis, but not sure if he is actually there or just talking about IDF troops operating in the south of the Strip.
