According to Hamas supporters in the USA, just another example of the "rich white colonizers oppressing the poor Palestinians":

Hamas founder's son addresses the UN regarding the organization and indoctrination etc. in Gaza:

Quote:

"Hamas' first crime against children in the Palestinian societies is not arming them or encouraging them to carry suicide bombing attacks it's the religious ideological indoctrination that I had to go through with one intention in mind: to annihilate the State of Israel. This is Hamas's primary goal," Yousef said.

As "a 10-year-old child when I disobeyed Hamas, I was tied up to a post and I was whipped by a Hamas top leader. My father was in prison at that time and this leader thought that he was my mentor. This is Hamas discipline. This is how they wanted me to be... to become a violent savage like them," the defecting son said.

Sucks for all the good Catholics in Lebanon but I think Beirut is about to be reduced to a pile of bricks. Just horrible that a small group of people will bring death and destruction to so many. It's unavoidable at this point.

This is a pro hamas media source as it comes from turkey. So, I'm sure the numbers are a little inflated. But, Israel has done some work.

Exactly, I was thinking that's a good start. But Israel, you still have work to do.

The look he made when she got to that statement about not valuing Palestinian lives was one of complete and utter disbelief that someone could say that with a straight face.

Great read on why the number of Palestinian civilians killed hasn't been as high as one might think.

Hamas propagandists and 'migrants' being targeted much more broadly now, and if Israel takes out the heads of the snake in Qatar I imagine there will be many fewer such lies spread in Europe/the US alike;

This war has the potential to dramatically reshape immigration/refugee policies in Europe, and after Nov 2024 in the US as well.

An optimistic take from Israel Times: Hamas is desperate and the deal shows it:

Quote:

At the start of the war, Hamas and Islamic Jihad started to trickle out hostages in ways that showed they didn't quite grasp the change that had come over Israelis. They tried to delay the ground incursion by promising to release two hostages every few days.

But Israel ignored the gambit, and every ensuing attempt to dangle hostages before it. It launched the ground incursion with no more than a mention of the Israelis held in Gaza. โ€ฆ

When Israel telegraphed for three long weeks that it was preparing to enter Shifa Hospital, it was giving the enemy time to escape. It didn't want a bloody battle in the hallways of a hospital. But it did want to enter that hospital and show Hamas there are no safe places anywhere in Gaza. And Hamas saw and understood.

This is key to understanding the war. Israel isn't speaking to the West. Its leadership registers Western discourse as a second-tier concern. Its message is for Hamas, and this message is the strategic heart of the war effort: There is nowhere in Gaza we won't go, no stone or tunnel or building we won't overturn in pursuit of you. None of the tactics that once kept you safe apply anymore.
Meanwhile, idiotically on Al Jazeera Hamas 'militant wing' leader calls for escalation on all fronts:
Quote:

The spokesman of Hamas' armed wing called on Thursday for the escalation of the confrontation with Israel on all resistance fronts.

"We call for escalation of the confrontation with the occupation throughout the West Bank and all resistance fronts" the spokesman for the Izz el-Deen al-Qassam Brigades, Abu Obaida, said in a video speech aired by Al Jazeera TV.
No way this holds for 4 days, imho.

So what - there's a 0% chance the Palestinians will be able to control themselves and will break the four day truce?

That would be my guess, yes. Animals gonna be animals - they just can't help themselves. That's what happens when you run the world's largest terrorist stud fam and inculcate children of three and four with the BS ideas of existing solely to kill Jews.

The only operative question is whether they release any of their hostages, or allow any Red Cross/crescent staff to visit those they are still holding and brutalizing (hint; they won't).

A couple rockets were launched within 15 minutes of the pause, though IDF excused them as 'likely not from Hamas.' Contra guidance, they are also moving much of their military age male population back to Gaza City, and some children human shields etc.

Jordan: We just want peace, but if those damn Palestinians are sent our way then it's war.

Jonathon Pollard (there's a blast from the past) calls for hostages family members to be silenced so they are not used by the leftists against Israeli security interests, blasts ceasefire;

Quote:

Jonathan Pollard, who spent 30 years in prison on espionage charges and was released in light of intensive public and diplomatic efforts, called for the families of hostages to be silenced, including by imprisonment, in a video with Machon Shilo on Wednesday.

Pollard called the ceasefire and hostage release deal a "monstrous blunder."

"When we declared war, the first thing that the government should have done was declare a state of national emergency and told all of the hostage families 'you will keep your mouths shut or we will shut them for you," said Pollard to Rabbi David Bar-Hayim. "You will not interfere in our management of this war. You will not be used by the international community or by our own leftists who managed the Shalit deal as a weapon against us. If that means imprisoning to silence certain members of the hostage families then so be it."

Pollard compared the situation with the hostages to a submarine which is damaged and the captain is forced to seal off a section with people in it in order to save the rest of the vessel.

Pollard added that, while he was in prison, he had opposed a proposal by the US to release him in exchange for Israel releasing Palestinian prisoners as a gesture to the Palestinian Authority.
I can't say he's really wrong, but I don't expect the IDF/'War government' to take such recommendations seriously.

"Overreaction" in the dudes second tweet is a non starter.

There's no such thing as a portional response in this matter. What does that even mean? Isreal had to stop killing hamas at 1400 people?

That dudes theory forgets that hamas is using the Palestinian people as a shield. There's is no solution except to accept the collateral damage of civilian death and minimize it best you can. HAMAS must understand that using civilians as cover will no longer save them and no one is going to stop Isreal because of it, despite the noise.

Secondly, I don't want to shut anyone up, but, there is precedent on silencing dissent during war at least as far back as the American civil war. I dont think it particularly helpful in the modern age when sharing speech is much easier. I think it would make the problem worse, not better.

Maybe I am reading this wrong but are you asserting Naama Levy did not report to that duty as described on the Thursday before the Saturday (October 7) attack? Are there other hostages you think are not who the Israelis have claimed they are/were, and on what basis?

So still none of the 50 promised have been released, correct? If this has been a huge miscalculation by Hamas and a huge bluff that has been called, Israel will not be happy. And Biden and the media that tried to say how great it was that Palestine and Hamas were negotiating in good faith should be held accountable.

24 have been released thus far.

Quote:

Hostages: Qatar said the hostages released on Friday were 13 Israelis, 10 Thai citizens and one from the Philippines. The Israeli hostages are all back in Israel, the Israeli military said.
